cunning thread. I see what you did. Conor is the better fighter but lost due to gas same as lombard.

Gassing is not an excuse. Gassing is a flaw. Hector had more speed and power, Magny had more heart, gas and technique. Tonight, heart and technique won and Neil proved he is a better fighter than Hector
 
Cardio is a part of the game. Especially if you're thinking like "street rules" where Lombard wouldn't get a free minute to catch his breath.

Either way I honestly feel, and I believe the GIFs will back me up on this, 90% of the shots landed after the initial knock down were to the back of the head. Even with that advantage Magny stayed in it and get the dub. Good on him.
 
When will some of you guys realize that cardio is a huge part of sports? Showing up with poor cardio is simply a sign of unprofessionalism.

It is and it isn't. Some guys are always going to be stronger and faster and never have great cardio. It's worked out for Hector pretty well until tonight. He wouldn't have gassed so badly if he hadn't gone all out trying to finish, and I don't think it's fair to hold that against him.

Lol @ technique. If you had said Magny has heart, gas, and recovery, then yes. Which is impressive how he was able to survive Hector. But technique? Almost any fighter could've beat Hector after he gassed. But that's Hector own fault for expending all his energy trying to force the finish. Hector is on another level with technique when compared to Magny. Mangy has good output/effort, and cardio/recovery and that's all he's got. He does not have elite technique by ANY means.

He lost on the ground when the reversal occured. Hector was outgrappled and I think he should be in LW anyways.

I disagree, I think Magny showed better striking technique and he clearly has a sick guard game. The reason Hector out struck him wasn't just technique, it's because Hector is a mountain of muscles and explodes faster than most people can react, hitting like a truck. The line between technique and physicality is a blurry one. Or more accurately, they are interlaced with each other.

Had enough technique to weather the storm and win.

Big muscles and killer instinct aren't the be all and end all.
 
Got to give Bombard some credit. At least he gassed going for a finish. Better than just gassing.

But I don't think he should have been allowed to return after he was busted.
