I just saw that Lombard made 53k/53k with his win over Burkman and according to http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/news/442297/Estimated-UFC-171-salaries/ He made 300k with his win over Jake Shields in his fight before that. Is there any reason why this would be considering he's been winning, now he's making considerably less money.
Shields last fight on original contract? That being said for rank and the fact he really beat tim, huge paycut
Kind of a free gimme fight...not sure if they would pay the same if it were a top 10 he was facing....
They renegotiated his contract once it became clear he wasn't going to walk in and become a division champ.
Yeah, I gotta imagine some of the bigger names get more incentive based contracts considering who they're fighting, winning streaks, PPV numbers, performance, etc. Lombard will get paid better for bigger fights.
http://www.cagepotato.com/the-ufc-allegedly-spent-700000-on-hector-lombards-awful-debut/ Presumably he started out at $300,000 per fight but then got shafted because Dana needs more snow at his house.
