Hi guys. Here is Part 5 of my 2015 unbeaten unsigned prospects - The Heavyweight Division!

Previous 2015 versions are below
Middleweights: http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f6...ys-unbeaten-unsigned-prospects-2015-a-2903743
Lightweights: http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f6...ys-unbeaten-unsigned-prospects-2015-a-2898125
Bantamweights: http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f6...s-unbeaten-unsigned-prospects-2015-a-2907269/
Women: http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f6...ys-unbeaten-unsigned-prospects-2015-a-2900173

A quick reminder of the rules as always:

1) They must be undefeated!
2) They must NOT be signed to any of the three largest promotions (UFC, Bellator & WSOF)
3) They must have fought at least once in 2014
4) They must have had at least 3 professional fights

Today is the time for the Heavyweight division. Due to the lack of heavyweight prospects out there, this list will only be 25 fighters (and even that was a struggle)! Those just missed out on the top 35 include Hideki Sekine (6-0) & John Johnston (7-0) - I left both out due to their age, Jarjis Danho (4-0) - left out due to the fact he has a legitimate loss which got overturned due to a timekeeping error, Andy Gonzalez (4-0), Lloyd Baker (3-0) & Horacio Enrique (3-0).

Guys ineligible due to inactivity included Salvador Sanchez (8-0), Duke Didier (4-0), Orlando Sanchez (4-0), Mikhail Gazaev (3-0), Jedrzej Mackowiak (3-0), Marcin Oponski (3-0), Martin Pierscinski (3-0), Ewerton Teixeira (3-0) & Leandro Xavier (3-0).

As always i'd be interested to hear everyone's opinions on this list, both good and bad!. Also if anyone can suggest fighters that I missed out or any ages of the fighters which I couldn't find it would be appreciated.

Enjoy Part 5!

I'd expect the UFC and Bellator to be looking at Chi with a few more Ws if they aren't already. I dunno if they throw him a few more bodies first but a fight with Vera could be a good headliner for One.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gheorghe on a Bellator prelim.

just waiting for paul l to complain at Blaydes not being #2 :p he's obsessed with that guy. I'm sure he's talented but it feels like overvalued potential.

and I mean no ill will by the obsessed comment. He just talks about him a lot

Haha yea I do like Blaydes - he's a big young guy and has a good wrestling background. Just for me, watching his fights, I was maybe expecting a little better considering the background -his shot for the takedown seems a little slow and predictable.

But he is still #6 for me and I do think he'll have a decent future and be in the UFC in 2 or 3 years. The guys above him are more tested and experienced.

Great thread as usual.

I reckon Georghe Ignat certainly lives up to his nickname the Carpathian bear, dudes an animal. What does he bench haha.

Blaydes should be ranked higher. :icon_chee

But seriously, good list. I wouldn't rank Ignat that high due to the fact he can't fight in most other countries due to his criminal history. Also he weighed in at 310 in his last fight. Dat prison weight.

I'm glad you gave Izmailov some props, he's a sleeper not many people have caught onto yet.

It really also shows how HW's are more prone to freak losses. In some divisions having 2 losses before a big show run is rare, while at HW it's an acceptable level.

Finally, keep an eye out next year for Arjan Bhullar (maybe at HW, maybe at LHW), Dakota Merritt, and especially Tom Aspinall.

I cant seem to find any footage anywhere :icon_neut

Excellent job!! I really enjoy these lists

Glad to see Istrefi here, I noticed this guy's record a few months ago and was wondering if he would be considered

Always great to see some unknown names for me ( Grebenec, Quichocho)

Here are other fighters you could consider for next year:
- Mark Tanios
- Craig Burke
- Ioannis Arzoumanidis
- Tony Mustard
- Marvin Skipper

Haha! Blaydes has the most potential on the list. Not just IL state champ wrestler, he was the 2012 NJCAA national champ (4/5 of the last UFC heavyweight champs were state champs or college wrestlers, more than any other weight class). He has an 83" reach and benches over 500 pounds, 8-0 ammy. Became Stipe's partner after being invited to train when he was an ammy. Everyone get on the Blaydes train ;)

Mulheron doesn't have a contract with M4TC?

A fellow Curtis Blaydes fan! I completely agree. I didn't know his reach though, that's crazy. NJCAA champs don't appear all the time, and if he went into the NCAA's I think he would have done extremely well at a D1 school.

Once his striking gets to the level of his ground game, he's going to terrorize HW.
