Ok so i just bought a thai kickboxing bag to train my stand up for like 130$.So now im a lil short on cash and i been wanting 2 buy a heavy bag to help train ground and such,so i bought an unfilled heavybag for only about 35$.So now i gotta fill it up with sand, and my only question is do it just fill it up with some regular sand frum home depot or sumthing or is there a cartin kind i need to get??i know its knind of a stupid question but idk what to do.

thanks.

Get a real thin sand...the ones for playgrounds...kids sand. You have to put it in bags...Also go to a carpet store and get a lining thing...that foam shit and line the bag with it then drop the sand in...a shredded shirt here n there wont hurt either to stuff in there...

thank you very much so is there more to it then just putting in sand and closing it up?

Before I would fill that thing with sand, I would see if there is a textile factory nearby so you can get some of their scraps for nuthin' I am not really sure sand is the way to go.

You don't want to fill the whole thing with sand, it would weigh 400lbs. Fill the majority with cut-up old clothes or fabric scraps, then add sand to get the desired weight you want. 80-100lbs is a good weight for a standard 4ft heavy bag.

You have to use whats called play sand. Its the kind they use for kids' sandboxes and stuff because its sterilized. You can buy it by the 50lb bag or go to a lumber yard and get a 1/4 yard, which should be more than enough.
