I think it's the worst pain a person can feel.
It doesn't matter if you've had your heart broken a number of times it never feels less painful, does it?
It really does feel like your heart is breaking, you get that constant ache in your chest that never goes away. You think about the person every waking moment and then when you sleep she'll often show up in your dreams too.
It's devastating, and it can lead some people to do some extreme things.

I wonder if there has been any scientific studies on heartbreak? The feeling is obviously very real, so what is it, why the aching in and around the area of the heart?

Have you had your heart broken very much? Not at all? Once?

They say it's better to have loved than never loved at all.

I'm not sure that's true. The pain afterwards is definitely much stronger than the joyous love.

I think the first is always the worst. She was in my dreams every other night. I contemplated blowing my brains out.

Then I got over it and banged other women.

My heart has only been broken once. As much as it sucked I believe it truly made me a better person.

Sadness at the end of the day still contributes to your growth as a person. The feeling of anxiety and nothingness, that's where the true hell lies.

It’s better to have loved and lost than be poor and homeless and have to hang in smoke shops for their free WiFi.

It gets easier. A lot easier.

I experienced something simular as a teenager and young adult, but you soon realise that meeting people and parting from them is part of life. You can have great relationships, without committing your entire happiness and state of being to being with them. Just enjoy the time, appreciate it, but don't depend on them for your own happiness.

When you've tried it a few times you learn to balance things out. No need to put someone else on a pedestal, that's unhealthy.

Listen, if you're going through it right now you're basically mourning a loss, it's bad but it's not that tragic. Time will heal it.

I guarantee a paper cut on the bellend is more painful.

It took me awhile to get over my ex and it sucks, but I can imagine a lot worse pain than going through heartbreak. Bamboo shoots being shoved between your finger nails, getting anally raped in prison, being poor and a manlet, etc.

No i'm not going thru' it right now, just thought i'd start a thread on the subject.
