I was just doing a little lifting and was just about to put up the heavy bag when i felt a throbbing pain in the chest, in the heart area. for the next few minutes i couldn't bend down, lift anything, or breathe deeply. It has been about 20 minutes and it has gotten a bit better but i'msitting still at the moment. Anyone have any idea what this might have been??

Someone please answer his question and if you have time also answer mine.
BTW: Thread starter - go to a doctor

I also get heart pain, but it's very mild and only comes when I do certain exercises. The exercises when my body doesn't bounce up and down (biking, swimming, climbing stairs, weightlifting) don't give me any trouble at all. But when I do the ones like jumping rope, running etc., about 15 minutes in I start to feel somewhat of a pulsing pain in the left side of my chest. It is not that strong and I don't feel any other effects (dizzyness etc.). The pain almost goes away if I breathe deep for a few minutes. Anyone knows what that is?

GO SEE A DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.

CRUSHING SUBSTERNAL PRESSURE/PAIN + NAUSEA + SWEATING + PAIN DOWN YOUR LEG ARM ==> INDICATIVE OF A HEART ATTACK.

Hope you live another day.

I will echo doctor...just to be sure. You are never to young to have a heart attack. Well...you know what I mean. There is also an inflamation of cartilage in your chest...damn I forget the name of the condition. Might be that as well. I"m not sure which I would wish on you...cause that cartilage inflamation can be a real bitch. My nephew (a very close to world class marathon runner) had it for about nine months.

Good luck

Well i'm not having any other problems besides the chest pains. But the pains are still there when i move around, no painwhen i'm still though.

just goto the doctors even if its nothing, its happened to me before too. do not feel ashamed. just to be safe.

Go to the doctor, hope you have health insurance.

It probably (hopefully) isn't anything.. is this the first time that has happened?

I have felt it a few times before, and not even when I was working out, however i've never felt it to that extent until today.

Listen to everyone on the board and go to the doctor immediately. Go to the emergency room even. None of us could tell you how serious this is over the internet and you don't have the expertise to determine how serious it is so talk to someone who does. You'll certainly be glad you did if it turns out to be serious.

As for you, that sounds somewhat like a side stitch but not quite. You get the same advice of "go to the doctor."
