Ok so everyday before I leave for school my dad gives me $5.00 (canadian) to buy lunch. The problem is, I can't buy anything healthy like a subway sandwhich or a beef donair because I never have enough. So i'm forced to buy junk like mcdonalds, wendy's or burger king. I'm wondering if anyone knows any good ideas about where to go or what would you do if you were in my shoes? thanks.

Buy groceries with the five bucks. Make it at home, and then take your lunch that you made to school.

buy deli meat wheat bread some granola bars things with wheats and grains if not turkey sandwhiches area easy pretty cheap and still a healthy way to get some food dont eat that crap from mc donalds if you MUST do fast food then go to wendys or arbys and get there fresh sandwhiches just stay away from fried and greased up food at those places

the best thing like others have said is to make your own lunch.

otherwise buy grilled chicken stuff at the fast food places and take the top of the bun off. and of course no fries. i used to get the wendy's grilled chicken sandwich, a chili, and a baked potato.

definitely pack your own food

take what you'd normally get in a week and buy groceries with it

you can make a plenty of healthy lunches for a week with that

and I know how it's cool to go out and spend money when you're in school, but believe me, it's worth not eating shit for that whole time

Subway isn't healthy, imo. Even the wheat bread isn't whole wheat, so I've heard.

wut u talkin about. . . .burger king is the healthiest place i eat

-patties have plenty of protein to maintain my muscle mass
-lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions are all good for you
-the buns provide just the right amount of carbs
-mayo, mustard, ketchup, and the extra grease encourage just enough fat that you need. . . .good source of stored energy
-french fries are good source of carbs. . . . .you need carbs to encourage muscle growth and energy

and plus. . . . . .whopper jrs, rodeo cheeseburgers, fries, chicken tenders, onion rings, and bacon cheeseburgers are all $1

bk is the way to go my man. . . . . . . .trust me i eat there all the time and only weigh 140
but then again i do have a fast metabolism

Christ, what are you, 14? Teenagers don't count when talking about what you can and cannot eat to maintain health and weight.

And please, for the benefit of your future health, read as much as you can about nutrition and stop eating at Burger King.

lol, I am pretty sure that person is a gimmick/troll. No one is that retarded.

someone posted a thread about some girl who thought panda express was healthy.there are people that are that dumb.

When I was 16 I ate 10 philly cheesesteaks in 3 days and weighed myself. Lost 3 pounds. Go metabolism. But now I have to pack my lunch to eat healthy.

A rodeo burger is not something I would say is healthy...

In my opinion, the D&S has some of the most intelligent posters on sherdog. But it also has some of the dumbest. Fucking Burger King? Shoot yourself.

Panda Express ( No MSG :) ) is not that bad actually, but a better choice is chicken teriyaka at Sarka Japan. It is high in protein, and has nice steamed vegetables.

Panda Express claims "No Added MSG".

Better choices for fast food:
- Panda express: get the stuff that's grilled, stir-fried, or steamed...avoid deep fried stuff
- Backyard Burgers: not sure if you have it where you are, but it's really good...char grilled chicken and Angus beef, all very lean...and you can get baked potatoes and chili and stuff also...
- Boston Market: hard to go wrong with rotisserie chicken and vegetables and stuff...significantly better than deep fried or fat soaked shit from places like your typical burger joint
- Chick-Fil-A: Fried food...but all in 100% peanut oil, no trans fats, it's pressure cooked so it's quickly cooked, sealed, and less fat seaps in...they have good grilled stuff also

my personal favorite:

- Pollo Tropical: it's cheap as hell...grilled chicken, great side-dishes...and did I mention it's cheap...I usually get a half chicken value meal (half a chicken, a roll, rice, beans) for less than $6.00...and it's all freshly prepared with fresh (no pre-packed, manufactured shit) ingredients...

hahaha i was just messin about the burger king thing

but seriously though, ask for like a couple more bucks, and you can eat at fresh choice. lunch is only like 7 bucks there. Thats pretty damn cheap for a healthy buffet

or you can just pack a light lunch. ill usually pack a tuna sandwich, brown rice with chicken, and a banana. you just gotta make use of what you have

I say bring your own lunch or get a job so, you can afford better lunches.

Wendy's has salads and stuff. Tuna is like a dollar a can, Tuna+ small amounts of mayo= good Protein meal. Add some greens to that and your good to go.
