Have you started skipping events?

Do any of you actually watch other sports, or is MMA it for you?

That's not a knock, just trying to figure out where all this negativity about not watching 100% of the content stems from.

Of course, there's like 50+ events a year and I have a life.

Agreed. It kind of bothered me at first when I missed a few pay per views, but the GF doesnt want to watch them ever, pretty much all the friends I use to order them with or go to bars to watch have lost interest in watching. If I can't watch a fight night/fox card live I dvr it and watch it the next day, but I skip through most of it. A 3 hour card takes less than an hour to watch that way even though I prefer to watch them live. I plan on watching the July 5th pay per view if the card stays intact which it probably wont, but that will be my first pay per view in awhile and might be the only one for the whole year.

There were 2 cards last weekend. This summer is stacked with cards almost every week and people usually have a lot going on in the summer.

Have you started skipping UFC events? Do you plan to skip any events?

Watched both, why would you skip on good fights?

Nowdays only watch mma and porn. Lost interest in NBA, f1, soccer, tennis, sumo.

I try to watch what I can, but I'm a new parent and between work, my son, my fiance and just generally living life I can't always keep up to date with every fight. I can't sit down and spend a whole day catching up with MMA anymore. I have not skipped any events but I am tending to cherry-pick which fights I can make time for a little more. Peter Sabotta v Pawel Pawlak might've been the best fight ever but it doesn't really mean very much to me, so I never really bothered with that when I could be watching the best of both events

Not as interested as I once was. Lately there have been more events I miss than I've actually seen

no plans to skip any events. i'll watch'em all.

Not yet....but there aren't as many cards I'm excited for. Makes sense considering there are many more now, not all will be great

yes I skip events, my boss likes schedueling me during all the ufcs bro, the last saturday I had off there wasn't even a ufc on, and there was work to do, fucking asshole

I usually plan my social agenda around the UFC calendar, and by usually I mean all the time, even friends' weddings, I'll get there late or whatever cause I like watching all the fights live and I go long ways to make it happen.

But seriously its getting tiresome and almost pointless to go through all that trouble only to watch stupid fucking lame ass fighters that no one has ever heard of with the same skill level than my gym buddies.

Its gotten to the point where almost every card is basically Bellator/WSOF rebranded as UFC, and I'm not willing to make these sacrifices for that kind of quality.

I didn't even know there was an event Saturday, let alone 2. I found out right before Stipe vs Maldanado started

A couple years ago I would've watched both events from FB prelims to main event and I'd be paying close attention to every fight

i do not skip events, i' am just forced out of my house by other people forcing me to do shit i don't want to do.

i watched both fn's in around 40mins. sweaty man-love on cage or mat? frameslide > frameslide, hit play when they get the stand up, or if it looks like a finish took place skip back 30s.

skip the post-fight, skip the pre-fight, skip the bullshiting, skip the hype

watch in full the one or two decent fights, as judged within the first 30s of round1

Yeah.

I also DVR events and fast forward A LOT.... I can't bring myself to care about 500+ fighter in 10 weight classes.

I know most top ten guys in most divisions, and I will give every fight a chance, but if it doesn't look interesting in the first minute or two and I don't know the fighters, they aren't ranked or I am not interested for whatever reason I FFW... and I feel like I really don't miss that much. I'd say I can spot a decision within the first minute at about 80% accuracy, you can tell if the guys are in there to end a fight or to try not to lose within a minute, two tops most of the time.

I've found myself skipping more events than I used to. I never skipped a PRIDE event or UFC event during the 2003-2006 period, nor did I miss Affliction or Bodog (when it mattered), I only have found myself being annoyed by the quality of the cards and being turned off by them in the past 2-3 years or so. Before that, I can't remember missing a card.

I do still catch all of the Bellator cards, but they're also only on for a small window of time.

I don't get Fightpass because of how shitty my internet is and I rarely purchase PPVs anymore.

I generally watch every FS1 and Fox card, though I was so uninterested in the tuf finale last weekend that I played Mario on the Wii U the whole time and just had the fights on in the background.
