The idea of a life coach is completely ridiculous to me. But maybe I'm wrong about them. Care to share any experience you may have?

Never heard anybody who hired them but I think it's a pretty weird concept, too. If you need help get a psychologist or something like that. Some of these life coaches seem to have the credentials of M.A. from the School of Hard Knocks. Like the idea being that they market themselves well and are slick image people but are they really providing the substance and are they really even qualified to be telling you how to better your life and succeed.

Frankly, if I want to get better in my field of employment I'll try to find a mentor at work, not a life coach. If I want to get better with relationships, I'll got to a therapist who specializes in that or I'll seek advice among friends who have great relationships. I don't think a life coach can really be the jack of all trades they want to be.

You don't have to be fit to know what you're talking about when it comes to personal training.

You could be a lazy **** who doesn't wanna do it yourself, but still could train people.

My 2nd cousin is a life coach, which I find kind of funny because her father is a doctor, her husband is a corporate lawyer, and she's an orange county housewife. What I'm trying to say is that her life hasn't been all that hard, so I'm confused as to how she could effectively life coach anybody through a difficult situation.

That's true, there's some great ex-athletes that aren't in shape any longer.

After reading this I wonder the chances of running into a charlatan slob could be quite high?

    Sure.

They basically help you do wtf you want to do. Cool to talk to some one not like 99.9% of the morons that make up the world.

I scoff at the concept of a life coach unless of course the life coach in question is Master Seagal

I know 3 women who have a life coach business together.

None of the 3 woman can get their own shit together so they focus on living vicariously through the improvement of others.

1)has a broken marriage and is an unengaged mother by most accounts

2)another has a horrible substance abuse problem and stays out all night looking for such -and is often worthless the next work day.

3)just got divorced and is trying to recreate "Eat Pray Love" right now.

I'll pass on the advice of those who can't get their own shit together.

Yeah, but he was really weird. Like, super hyper and was in constant motion despite the fact that he had a pretty significant weight issue. Sometimes I had to struggle not to burst out laughing when he started giving me all this praise for my ideas. He was just so too animated, like super hyper despite being fat and he was always practically shouting in your ear. His style of dress was really disorienting too. This weird blue and white checkered coat. I didn't session with him again since I found out that, believe it or not, he was living in a van down by the river.

Just buy a Tony Robbins book. Awaken The Giant Within has just about all the information one could ever need.
