Has wearing the belt ever worked out for a challenger?

I know Chael was parading around with a UFC belt as the challenger and well, we know how that went down, he almost got the real belt.

Now Connor is walking around with a UFC belt. Maybe he will have better luck...

I know it probably hasn't been done all that many times, but did any challenger ever walk around with a belt before their title shot and then wind up winning?
