Has there ever been this much GOAT potential in the UFC before?

    Gsp
    THE CHRIS
    Anderson
    Bones
    Cain

All legitimate contenders at this point, can anyone remember a time when there were this many Greats who were this dominant?

Then heres another question, does anyone else see all the potential matchups between them?! Chris vs Andy aside, well be lucky to see any of those names matched up together! I want to believe. They gave us Bj vs Gsp so im keeping faith.

Scratch Cain and Pettis, neither has done enough yet to be the absolute GOAT. The rest potentially have with Weidman inching closer.

Pettis, Cain, Weidman are not solid enough yet.

    GSP is not back.

That was mostly due to BJ being a warrior and willing to move up to WW because he wanted to prove he's the best.

I wouldn't praise the UFC for that.

I'm pretty damn sure Pettis/Aldo and Jones/Weidman are going to happen eventually.

The former has already been scheduled one, and Weidman offered to fight Jones at 151.

No. The top fighters now are cray cray good, even the ones without a load of title defenses.

Also, you left out Demtrious Johnson, Ronda Rousey, and Dominick Cruz.

...And a certain proper fighting Irishmen. :)

Exactly, i can't remember a fighter who was so fearless too put up his legacy so willingly. It paid off not many can say they were a 2 time divisional champ.

More weight classes than ever = More Champs = More potential GOATs on roster. Quite simple.

There will never actually be a GOAT. There will always be a perpetual debate over who is the GOAT, so really it doesn't matter that much in whole wide spectrum of things. But the debates are fun...

Youre right. The fighter has to step up, God bless Bj...

In Aldos defense though, he did aggressively go after the Pettis fight.

Weidman offered to fight Bones and Bones said he was 100% up for a fight against Cain. If either of those too went after it like Jose did for Pettis, id be satisfied. Funny thing is fight still wouldnt be gauranteed, we are yet to see Aldo vs Pettis and its not even in the conversation at this point.

Then he left to go fight for K-1. Including Duane Ludwig @ 170, Rodrigo Gracie @ 185 AND Lyoto Machida (Openweight - BJ was like 190/Machida 220 I think).

This is why we love BJ Penn.

Depends if Weidman succumbs to injuries. If he beats Vitor, Jacare, Rockhold, Machida (again) and wins a LHW superfight, he's in the discussion for MW GOAT.

HW is too shallow for Cain to be the GOAT, so scratch that.

Funny, a lot of Sherdoggers feel that Fedor is the GOAT.

And he fought pro wrestlers, not legit contenders, in over half his PRIDE fights.
