Has reading Sherdog ever made you root for or against certain fighters?

I can admit that I am guilty of this. Honestly I'm not really a fan of any fighter I'm more of a fan of combat sports in general and just like to watch the fights. It's not like Football or Hockey where I root for a team based on my region.

In other words I don't really put much stock into who wins or losses, but some of the fanboys and their unhealthy man crushes make me tend to root against fighters that I other wise wouldn't.

I've found my-self doing this with Fedor and Shogun. Two great entertaining fighters that carry themselves like gentlemen outside of the cage; and it's not like I'm not happy for them when they win, but their fan-base has been so obnoxious that I can find joy in them losing. I know this is really petty, but it's the truth.

Same goes for McGregor, but he carries himself like a douche, so there is more of a reason to want him to lose. He has definitely proven himself though so I can't hate on the guy as far as his skills go. His fans seemed to have cooled down a bit as well. As far as the Khabib fight goes I'm pretty nuetral on to who wins.

Reading Sherdog made me root against Luigi Fioravante AND Spencer Fisher.

Yea, with Jones. I like to watch him fight but his fans that think he is innocent and bad mouth a stand up guy like DC, make me want to see Jones lose. His antics outside the cage and his bi-polarness make me want him to lose in devastating fashion as well.

As a fight fan, not a fighter fan boy, the best part of mcgregor v kabib is one of them will lose.

Yes, it's often thee reason I come on Sherdog before fights.

I like and respect majority of fighters, but it's simply more fun to hate somebody. All I have to do is open sherdog, and I found some jackass, arrogant, insulting poster who will give me a reason to root for somebody.

The more I read Sherdog the more I realize the UFC is dying/dead, so I'm just going to sit back and enjoy its last breath/funeral.

You seem to be manipulated pretty easily

DC.

Used to be somewhat sympathetic to him during Strikeforce, but his obnoxious, self-righteous, holier-than-thou fanbase on Sherdog is very annoying.

Never. I'm able to form an opinion of my own by seeing how fighters fight (first and foremost), and how they behave outside of the cage (to a lesser degree).

Why the fuck would I let my opinion on someone be influenced by an annoying fanbase?

Sherbro's and others have more than got behind an untested Sambo fighter who I look forward to seeing taste leather.

I'm kind of the opposite with Jones. He seems to ruffle more feathers than anything around, so I kind of pull for him to keep winning. It more stems for before his troubles though. He beat fighters like

Machida, Rampage, and Shogun all of which have a lot of fans and the excuses about primes and Jones being too big for LHW were all over the place around here. He's always had his share of haters, because he's beat everybody's heroes. That being said no fucks will be given if he loses his next fight

I use to be a fan of Conor until Sherdog ruined it for me..

No, because I'm not easily influenced enough to hate fighters based on what fat 40 year olds in basements who spend money to post on a free forum think

Why should I care how a guy who fist fights in a cage for a living carries himself on his own time? This makes you no different than a pro wrestling fan. Which I have no hate for. After all We wouldn't have MMA as it is today if wasn't for pro wrestling.

There are some fighters I like to watch more than others based on their style, but why should I give a shit about their personality outside the cage?

Sherdog turned me onto Mike Perry.

I like seeing Sherdog hype trains get rekt though.
