Has Nate Diaz ever lost a fight where being taken down wasn't a threat?

Lol why the hell would Conor try to take Nate down though?

Conor will be in WAYYY more trouble with Nate on the ground than he would on the feet.

Nate has one of the nastiest guards in MMA.

That's what I was thinking.

he's pretty good with "fighting tall" and his defense is pretty sound too when it comes to anything doesn't include kicks

Conor uses a lot of spinning kicks. This can sure be his first win by some crazy kick then.

Yeah I think that would be Conor's surest path to victory -> stand-up versatility + overall versatility.

On his best night it should look like McGregor/Holloway.

Nate's best case scenario is a Nate/Cerrone type performance. Cerrone, unlike McGregor, has piss-poor footwork but his kicks are more lethal and he can match Nate size-for-size.

Yeah Thomson beat the crap out of Diaz not that long ago and there was no takedowns, pure stand up the whole fight, Diaz was just a punching bag for a guy who hasn't beaten anyone else in 3 years.

To be fair Thompson had a 50/50 fight with Gil, should of beat bendo, and should of beat Green. He had a really bad run of decisions and was clearly a top fighter.
