I feel like he has been underachieving his whole career and really hasn't progressed the way he should. A guy with his elite wrestling and dangerous KO power should be doing much better than he is. He has been training at top camps and should be improving his skills but it seems like he has stagnated since his Strikeforce days. What do you guys think has been the reason he hasn't taken that next step?

I'm not a fan, I think he's always been a little overrated, and I definitely have no interest in making excuses for him. That having been said, the guy had a nasty, nasty staph infection and hasn't been the same since.

No, if anything he has overachieved.

His style is one dimensional, his hands are overrated...his list of wins is only good when you look at the Mousasi win...then if you watch the fight you dont think that highly of it anymore.

He is a great wrestler but if MMA was all abotu wrestling then no one would watch it...period. I think it was fair and just that he lost to Rampage for that sorry ass excuse of a performance...and for him to whine as he has about the decision really goes to show you what kind of a person he is...he fought afraid, abused the rules to obtain a W in a fight which he talked so much trash leading up to it...Mo will never be top ten hell I dont even think he is top 20 skill wise. His ego and his attitude will always hold him back.

Yes, King Mo is an underachiever and the knee injury put a big damper on that changing anytime soon.

Further evidence that FS and GR wrestling credentials do not trump college credentials for MMA.

His next biggest win after Mousasi is Seth freaking Petruzelli. Let that sink in for a moment.

I think he has underachieved to a certain extent. When his gameplan is to wrestle, he usually wins. When he tries to make it a stand up battle, he doesn't. If he were focused squarely on the W and was willing to do more of his work with GnP, he'd probably have more wins.

No, he is about where he belongs if not a bit higher up. Mo has never been a world beater, despite his attempts to convince us otherwise. He's obviously a gifted athlete with some real skills as a fighter....but I couldn't put him in the top ten, maybe even top 15 LHW in the world. I don't see anyone in the top five he could realistically beat, and 6-10 would be favorites, IMO.

    What evidence?

Only Cormier and Jones would be able to wrestle with Mo at 205. No one else.

The weakest guy in the top 10 is Newton, and we have seen how that fight goes already.

I'd favor Mo over Hendo, Shogun, Bader and possibly Davis. I think him and Rampage are top 10.

This post just made me compare the Rampage/Mo fight to Mo/Mousasi.

At least one of those decisions is clearly wrong.

lol You have way too much confidence in him! Is only hope of beating those guys is to lay n pray his way to a split decision win. He's probably get knocked out by all 3 of them.

The problem isn't that he hasn't progressed. The problem is he has regressed.

The Judges? Would you be making this thread if King Mo won by split decision?
