6 games without a goal... he mostly stays in the box and don’t score from free kick or have the same speed.. is CR7 time as the best player in Europe... over?

what do you think?

Well he's not the best anymore and it would be embarassing for anyone in their prime if a guy who's 37 was still the best footballer in the world. He's declining obviously but i think the biggest reason to why he's not scoring much all season is the context within Man United. They are a horrible team, he's having a bad start to 2022 and should be playing better but in that team besides De Gea no one is up to standards.

Even Bruno Fernandes who is in the middle of his prime was dropped weeks ago duo to bad form, this is team is just bad. They had a horrible manager, they have a average one now and several players who shouldn't be MU players.

He has been shitting the bed the past few months in league play, but he has showed up pretty big in the Champions League this year

The team has been chaotic and an all around shitshow, it's throwing him and everyone else out of sorts.

He has declined, but he is still a world class footballer. Definitely not washed yet

no he did not and in some aspect he did. just like barca and their players were old and not productive under van gal i think this coach tactics and mentality does not get best out of ronaldo or team

I feel like he is similar to Lebron: physically gifted enough to adjust in old age, but gets shat on because he is only in like the 95% percentile of players now not 99th lol.
(FWIW I think are both idiots and/or wretched people)

Not really true, imo.

He was largely average in the CL as well, in a really weak group......yeah he scored a few vital goals, so you can't knock that, but it is papering over the cracks.

Saying without Ronaldo and his goals we'd be out, is the analysis of a 4 year old.

He's about the 6 best Portugal player in the Prem league, now.

Well he's certainly in a slump. Should of had one on the weekend, but I think it's a team issue more than anything. We haven't scored from a corner all season...wtf? Our crossing had been horrendous amongst other things. Ronaldo is the GOAT in the air and he can't get his head on the ball that is a problem.

The team is in shambles behind the scenes and I believe that has carried over to the pitch. One bright spot is Pogba played well this weekend. So if he can do that consistently then maybe we have a chance.

He is 37 and changed teams, kinda normal if he lost a step or two.

It's a mix. He's probably lost a step but cripes that team is playing horrid right now

Towards the end of last season, United were looking the best they'd looked since the Fergie era, but they've absolutely capitulated since then.
United currently have the 5th best offense in the EPL. Last season they had the 2nd best offense in the EPL, scoring 73 goals, which is the most they've scored since Fergie's last season.
In terms of per minute production, Ronaldo is having his worst season since 2005/2006, but Sancho and Messi are having the worst seasons of their pro career.
If Portugal fail to qualify for the World Cup, Ronaldo will have had a disastrous year.

I'm about as big a Cristiano hater as you'll find and he's not a bad guy at all

United had a really poor end to last season......capitulation actually started around April / May.

Stats for last season were okay, but in reality United were poor the majority of the time and were in a false position.

15 of the 73 goals came in 2 games.

United had 74 points has a 2nd place last season

In the last 20 years, only in 2 seasons a 2nd place team had 74 or less points

So United got 2nd place in a ridiculously atipical year, where there was plenty of COVID fucking up teams, Chelsea had Lampard until February, and Liverpool was completely massacred with injuries in important players

United have been a joke in the last 4 years

Well, first of all, he hasn't been the best player in Europe in a long ass time, man is 37.

Second, it depends on what you mean. Compared to his prime? Of course, yes. Is he totally finished as a player? Nah, I think he has some mileage left. He was scoring a lot in the beginning of the season, and saved Man U's and Portugal's ass a couple times. But Man U are a disaster collectively. His position as an older guy is being a center forward who's less involved with play making, he depends on the team creating chances for him, and grabbing crosses or rebounds in the area. He's undeniably going through a bad streak of games, but that's not necessarily evidence that he's finished. He' probably still a top 15-20 striker in the world, even past prime.

How is Zlatan doing?

Should have had 2 assists today but Sancho and Bruno bottled it. Still atrocious game by United, saved by a moment of brilliance by Ronaldo and Bruno.

lmao at top 15 to 20

Ronaldo was literally in the top 5 scorers for 2021 with almost 50 goals in the year

Was the Serie A top scorer last season
Was the Euro top scorer
Had 36 goals in 44 games for Juve last season
Now he's a bad month and he's a top 15-20 striker lmfao you gotta love it
