Media Has Chael lost his mind?

The dude wrestled at 197 in college. Making 185 all those years- into his thirties.... brutal.

Chael bless.

It's a 2 minute video you don't need cliffs.
If what he says is true then why didn't he fight at LHW his entire career? This dude talking just to talk now? Discuss.

Edit:

Chael states the weight advantage lies with the lighter fighter, contrary to the popular belief that the heavier fighter has the advantage.

The current trend doesn't really hurt his case though. Henry- Moves up wins belt
Conor- Moves up wins belt
Amanda- Moves up wins belt
GSP- Moves up wins belt
DC- Moves back up wins belt

All this "Champ Champ" shit has resulted in the smaller (or from a lower WC anyway) fighter winning with the exception of the Max/ Eddie interm fight and BJ against the possible GOAT.

If skills are close or the lower weight fighter has a slight edge the speed advantage and less of a draining cut can make a huge difference. Being smaller in no way means you are guaranteed to be the weaker person strength wise either, contrary to popular belief.

He did win fights at LHW, choking out Shogun in his 2nd fight and also beat Rampage, but he's also said this applies much for to strikers than wrestlers.
He began his career at LHW and had many fights there, both wins and losses, long before the Shogun fight.

The famous screaming in agony against Babulu picture was one of his last fights a LHW before dropping down.

The Rampage fight was actually at HW.

If skill is relatively close, the largee man will win everytime. The skill gap needs to be pretty big (even if in just 1 area) for the smaller guy to win. Chael is being trollish here.

A bigger guy can get away with sloppy techniques or can get moves that he "wasnt supposed to" bc the positioning wasnt ideal but he can just explode a bit more. It really is stupid

Andy Ruiz might disagree with you.

That guy is a proven cheater and a felon. Why do people like you keep posting his vids in here to discuss whatever controversial shit that he says I dont know.

He says a lot of things. Just to make noise.

Is normal.

Lord Chael is right as usual. This is why fans have such a problem with guys like Lord Chael and Schaub. They know more about the sport than the fans and they don't like that.

Chael is one of the best orators in the world, could tell you hot was cold - I think he is super amazing and funny!

Haven't watched the video yet, however I gotta say, Chael has one of the best MMA channels on YouTube, maybe even the best. He's a professional YouTuber now, and all his videos are great.

Its true, being tiny is great.

For instance a lot of the smaller wrestlers used to manhandle Karelin in practise back in the day. Of course smaller than 200-220 lbs, I mean 160 and lower. To beat a beast like him you need a big size advantage

People actually cut weight because its even an advantage to have been at a lower weight recently when fighting

Well it’s obvious Chael isn’t very bright n is an attention whore.

He’ll say anything to get attention.

He made good points, all the guys who tried to be double champs by going down in weight all lost, the double champs all went up in weight to win a title.

They are still fighting at upper limit

Nobody gonna fight at ww at 156 or mw at 171 cause it’s an “advantage being smaller”

They all try to be as big as possible (make weight at upper limit)
