Has anyone in the UFC ever been finished by a triangle body-lock?

It's one of Joe Rogan's favourite Roganism's 'He's got a body triangle, he can get finished just with that'.

He says it pretty much every time someone gets it. I'm wondering if anyone has ever actually tapped to that move.

Only one that I recall in UFC

Although in Shooto and DEEP it happened many times.
 
Yeah its kinda funny how often he says it compared to how often it happens but I could def see somebody tapping to it under the right circumstances/pressure..Like the scorpion rib crush I guess but you cant just push their face to defend.

About the rib crush, some gym I trained with tried to tell me it was "a secret (insert gym name) weapon...I found it hilarious when I saw it on submissions 101 along with half the other stuff he showed that week...and he tried to induct me into a pyramid scheme lol

I've heard him say that before, so I see where you;re coming from, but it's a huge stretch to suggest he says it every time it happens. Did he mention it recently or has this been bugging you a long time?

What he does seem to mention every time it happens is that a body triangle makes it hard to spin into someone's guard when they have your back and that it squeezes the life out of you and makes it hard to breathe.

I think Mike got injured in that fight but it was a body triangle submission.

Last year when I was in 9th grade we got in a fight with some others from Lawson Hall and this 7th grader was talking shit so I dropped him and made him quit with a triangle body lock. I swear he cried like a girl, but I did wrench it hard as heck!

I think its funny because i feel like everytime joe mentions that he references the ivan salavary fight, and im glad people came in and said frykland because i was thinking it was joe riggs for some reason but i think thats was the up kick into triangle or something

Ha, I'm actually watching UFC 79 and he say's it in the Guillard Vs Clements fight.

It's more that you can get submitted when your opponent has a steel cup on.
Than it cracks your spine and it hurts like a motherfucker.

I always thought that steel cups were fobidden in the UFC because of it because you can definitely get submitted with it.
 
demarcus johnson got part of his back ruptured by a body triangle against guyman i believe
