I used to be an athlete 15 years ago, I mean top grade athlete - about 5% bodyfat 18" arms. in the gym 2 houra a day 7 days a week. Model aesthetics. After my mom died 10 years ago let myself go. Now I am a fat bastard and dont have the motivation to go to the gym. weird thing is, that I still get girls on the regular but sometimes i look at my body in absolute disgust, i can also feel my health getting worse too. went for a run in the park and I was panting hard after about 3 mins. Anyone else here, was an alpha in there youth and totally fell off and now fat?

Oh yeah...

I was super fit in HS. Played sports. Abs. Whole 9. Went soft after having kids, and ballooned to 240 because of heavy drinking in my late 20’s. Worked back down again, minus the abs, and weigh 170ish now.

keep at it. Find a cardio exercise you enjoy, and cut out sugar. You will drop the pounds.

Yeah kind of. Getting back tho

You described me perfectly up until 3 years ago.

I was an athlete and went into the Army, and I was pulling women left and right without even to try. I was 6'0 and a solid 190 pounds. Then I left the Army and 'let myself go' and gained 55 pounds.

I finally looked at myself in the mirror and was disgusted, and I felt like shit. I lost all the weight within 7 months and got as low as 181 pounds, and I never stepped foot into the gym, or even get my heart rate elevated.

How did I do it? Simple. Educated myself on nutrition.

*What to eat.
*How much to eat.
*What not to eat.
*When to eat.

Simple.

I didn't go cold turkey over my old eating/drinking habits, I slowly weened myself off from unhealthy eating & drinking to healthy eating and drinking over the course of a month, and I still had cheat meals after I achieved a weight goal.

I could write page and page about what I did, but it may not work for you. So do your own research into what you're eating that is bad for you and find tasty alternatives that you like just as much.

If you'd like some broad suggestions, PM me.

I'm not fat, but gained a ton of weight that's definitely not muscle. I was super skinny when I was younger so it kinda balanced out.

18-26 I hit the gym 6 days every week for 2 hours no exceptions. I use to be motivated back then and thought anything was possible. Now I know better.

Back & forth.
It's a vicious cycle!i!

Yeah I did. Used to play tennis quite seriously every day, was doing okay weight wise not playing, then got comfortable and piled the pounds on. When I decided I didn't like it I lost it. Not healthily but I lost it. Was pretty badly underweight a few times.
I can see me being in a bit of a mess soon with the amount of egg nog I'm consuming and 9 days off over Christmas but I'll sort it out early enough in the new year. Beyond caring right now everything is so up in the air.

@Shidlord Have you considered working out at home? I know you can feel a bit self conscious working out at a gym or outdoors if you're overweight.

Not fat but no longer built

I can't be arsed and this year has fucked things right in the bellend

I was never built other than my tennis racket arm and calves and I definitely needed to put on some weight but it's going to be out of hand this time next month the amount of naughty stuff I keep being given at work and naughty stuff at the weekends booze wise.

Screw getting on the scales till Jan 2nd. Cross that bridge and all that. I reckon by that point I'll need to get rid of a stone.

Most people are weak. And they follow the sheeps.

People around me after my last fight: now you gonna become fat.

People around me when i become a dad: now you gonna become fat. Badbod.

People around me when i turned 40: get ready to get old and fat.

Well everybody was wrong.

I have always been a chubby guy. Really ballooned in High School, like nearing 300, that's when I first got into martial arts.

At my best I get to about 220, complacency kicks in and I put on 10-15 lbs. Been going through this cycle ever since. Currently at about 250

Same here, come Jan 3rd or 4th I'll do something, no point pretending this month is going to be anything other than excess

Thank you for supporting the mobility scooter industry.
