Has anyone here gone gluten free?

I started Keto diet . Not because of gluten but to lose weight.
I feel awesome but that could be just because of the weight loss.
Also no more fucking sugar!

Yeah I'm basically bloated from the moment I eat breakfast up until I wake up the next morning to eat breakfast again. I'm only 155lbs but I have to walk around with my stomach sucked in half the time because I get toddler body as soon as I eat anything. Someone posted an article a while back about how doctors are finding out that your appendix harbors good bacteria in it and I had mine out when I was a kid so that could be some sort of factor as well.

I've always thought of gluten free as some shit hippies made up because they're bored but I'm willing to try anything at this point. Dropping the coffee for a bit should be an easy test for you. I don't drink it at all so I know it's not that for me. Did your SO go gluten free because she had stomach issues or did she have something else going on?
That sucks man. Are you familiar with FODMAP? It's foods that naturally contain a high amount of sugar, and some people are sensitive to it. You can find a list online of foods that are high and low. I had symptoms similar to yours and finally saw a registered dietitian. I did an elimination diet (no gluten/dairy) and though i didn't feel as bloated, it didn't cure me either. It's been a couple years and i've had very small amounts of gluten or dairy and been fine. In fact, i'm looking forward to introducing both back into my diet and seeing how that goes. You should consider seeing a GI doctor asap. A sense of incomplete evacuation can be caused by a pelvic floor dysfunction, which can be fixed. Good luck, dude.

Eat seitan and if you feel sick afterwards you are probably gluten intolerant, seitan is like 100% gluten.

I'm doing Keto right now, don't feel particularly good. I have lost 6lb in the last 3 weeks tho.

A cold IPA would make me feel a lot better.

Thanks I need to look into all that. I think I looked into the FODMAP list a while back and was disappointed that it contained all of my favorite healthy foods. Garlic, onion and asparagus? Fuck, kill me now. I already eat a bland diet and those are some of the little things that are healthy that I enjoy. Then again, I don't enjoy feeling like ass every day so maybe I just need to man up and start treating food as a means to get by rather than something I enjoy.

it could be a food allergy but most food allergies are serious like that chick who ate peanuts and died, so your issues doesnt sound severe since it only bloating. I would guess a Digestive issue aka weak gut.

you need to start experimenting with fermented foods and probiotics to find which is best for you

that bloating is usually from gas or parasites or bad bacteria build up

you gotta find a way to reduce it through diet

sounds like you could have some candida

Thanks I've never heard of candida so that's another thing I can put in the tool bag when I go to the docs. It's hard to narrow things down because the symptoms are all pretty similar for every one of these things but getting tested for them all individually might be my best best.

I have a slight intolerance but I love beer so I just try to eat as little gluten as possible so I can drink beer and my stomach is generally OK. Last time I overdid it was in Boston at a really nice restaurant that had an amazing lasagna. Ate that and drank beer all day and I basically had about 3 hours of in and out of the bathroom the next morning.

I'm tired of feeling like shit all the time.\
Because you eat too much sugar.
The false narrative you idiots follow is that you go "Gluten free for a few weeks to see if I feel better" and stop eating crap, thinking it's the gluten. No, you're just not eating as much as sugar and crap. It's not some protein that is making you feel this way.

I don't think there's any evidence to support the notion that gluten "sensitivity" is a real phenomenon (outside of Celiac).

I can't help but to agree. Why is this a thing just over the past couple years all of a sudden?

I thought it was funny when I heard Carlos Mencia say one time that there are some things white people say that you'll never hear a Mexican say and one of those things was "Gluten Free"

You would be surprised how many people have gut issues in America, its very common specially as you get older. a lot of women tend to have leaky gut.

you are probably feeding the bad bacteria with your sugar fed diet

If I were you do a cleanse start over diet, eliminate all bad foods and start making BONE broth from animal bones like chicken and beef, boil that in a slow cooker over night to break the collagen and proteins

This is something my family has used every time during flu season and we never get sick, we drink bone broth my mom would make it for us every winter you drink it warm and it is great for the stomach too and immune system.

after those are done fridge it scrap the fat off the top, the broth should be jello consistency

then every day warm up a cup of that stuff drink it, you can also add veggies to it and use it for your base for soups

its great for the gut. after a week or so drinking broths and eating soups you can determine how your gut is feeling, it should help cleanse you too, you can then start including solids back in and good foods

also when you boil potatoes dont eat them warm, wait for them to be cooled in the fridge and then eat them cool you can put bbq sauce on it, for taste but the reason to do this eating them cold is they become a Resistance starch, meaning you wont get a spike in glucose and it will help feed the good bacteria in your colon.

I think it may be environmental toxins that are causing an increase in people's inflammation response to things that would otherwise be accepted by the body.

Like fire retardant furniture causes cat eye cancer.

It's a historically regular thing that we found certain things are toxic, in furniture or household cleaners etc and we've eliminated them. It's dumb to think things won't be rejected in the future.

I'm on gluten free diet due to stomach issues. A few years back I had to cut out all lactose and gluten and it's made a world of difference. I was getting tired of getting colonoscopies so I'm glad it has helped. It's really not that hard once you get used to it, everything costs a little more so if you're poor you might be screwed.

Did your doctor diagnose this?

Why are you guys assuming I'm eating a high sugar diet? I'm not saying I don't eat any sugar at all but I can guarantee that I eat way less than the average person. I've even switch my snack to 90% dark chocolate so I can have a treat without having a high dose of sugar.

Colonoscopies are something I want to avoid like the plague so I don't envy you there @Krixes

It could literally be anything. Gluten, sugar, acidic foods, caffeine, etc. The only way to find out is to test different foods.

Start out by eating a minimal amount of food. Basic stuff like only eating chicken and rice for a day. Then start introducing different foods, until you find what triggers it.

I have a cousin who cut out all bread what so ever and he’s lost a load of weight and swears he feels great since stopping

Did your doctor diagnose this?

Yeah, It wasn't my regular doctor it was a specialist. I was probed, poked, and had blood tests done for over a span of a year. They finally told me I was lactose intolerant and had autoimmune disease. My ALT levels were pretty high and I don't even drink alcohol. It's a night and day difference since going on the diet, I still get terrible migraines but I've had a lot of concussions.

Went gluten free to lose weight and it worked very well.

Now I try to stay low gluten but I havent cut it out of my diet like ive done before.
