I grew up in a Southern Catholic conservative home. I held those views while I was a teenager, even though I stopped going to church at 11 and declared myself an atheist at 13. I was still conservative. Held some pretty far right views. I was openly racist, hated welfare and government handouts (and later found out much of my family was on public assistance of some sort lmao), was against gay marriage (and hated gay people; turned out the cliche was right in my case; the one about homophobes being in the closet), and even attended some anti-choice events.
As I got a little older and made new friends, including black kids and gay kids, I started to falter a bit on those views. I went to a few GSA (Gay/Straight Allience) meetings in high school. Eventually joined the club outright. Even quit wrestling after an injury, for good, to be able to attend the meetings more regularly.
And by exposing myself to people that were different than me, I realized a lot of shit I believed was straight up bullshit. We SHOULD help the poor. We should allow gay people to marry one another. We should allow women to have control over their bodies. The final nail in the coffin was when I saw Obama speak at the Verizon Amphitheater when I was 17. I was enamored, even if I denounce much what he did in hindsight. I was only 17 but registered to vote (my 18th birthday was before the election) and voted Obama. I didn't vote for him the second time around, but I was absolutely stunned seeing him speak live.
Not, I still hold some opinions that people consider "right wing", like fully supporting the 1st and 2nd amendment. Neither of those things should be considered "right wing" at all, but they happen to be at the moment, and that's okay. The label doesn't scare me away from what I believe.
I don't believe trans people should be competing in sports contrary to their biological sex. So I'm apparently transphobic. Equal rights for trans people should mean equal spaces (restrooms, shower facilities, etc), but not same spaces.
I don't believe that children should be brought to PRIDE parades when there are people clearly advertising their kinks and wearing outfits only fit for mature websites. I don't believe that we should encourage 11 year old drag queens and they certainly shouldn't be getting money thrown at them by pedophiles.
I'm against hormone therapy and puberty blockers in children. It's fucking barbaric.
I'm sure I could find more things in common with the right wing, but I won't keep dragging on.
Blanket statement no. 3221
When you get older & more successful, you tend to lean right because you'd want lower taxes. When you get older & you suck at life, you tend to lean left because you want handouts & also to impress college chicks of your wokeness because god knows no one wants to bang you.
This is nonsensical parody fodder. I may suck at life but I have NEVER as much as applied for government handouts. I don't give a shit about being woke or impressing anyone.
And I bang a fine amount for a man of my standing.
