When working the banana bag with low kicks, I'm finding that my toes are bruised up from kicking the bag. I am kicking with the shin, but think that my toes are making contact with the back from the reverberation. Is the only possible way to stop this is to have someone hold the bag for me? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

shins, toes knees will get bruised .. so suck it up?

or you could bend back your foot when you kick

or your kicking to close to the toes

You mean on top of your toes? If so, I know what you mean, it happens. Straighten your foot out.

I was hitting one of those bags next to the ring, and my toe ended up hitting a fat bolt on the ring, that really hurt

Ya your just going to have to deal with it or try to land a bit higher on your shin.

your aiming to low on your chin, aim a little higher so if it hits low it doesnt hit your foot or toes. Because during a fight, if u kick a knee with your foot the wrong way, that shit's going to break. And i had this problem before, you just have to either learn how to keep your foot straight, but the your foot will still hit, just build it stronger.... but damn man.. your toes?

I used to take TKD (Now I do MT) and we did round kicks with our insteps...in order to avoid catching and breaking our toes, we just pointed our toes or "curled them" and problem solved...

Even though I kick with my shins now and kick with a basically "relaxed" leg, I make a concious effort to point my toes like, right before impact to avoid the whole toe injury thing...

I know what you mean about toes hitting from the reverberation, its really anoying. sometimes I connect with my shin but the whole top of my foot will reverberate and makes a really loud *SLAP* noise.
