Has any UFC Champion ever cleaned out their division like UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has? This kind of domination is unprecedented in UFC title fights.

Ronda Rousey MMA Stats, Pictures, News, Videos, Biography - Sherdog.com

Jesus, of course. GSP, Anderson, Jones, Aldo, Mighty Mouse.

Anderson silva ,jon Jones and Demitrous Johnson.

Gsp

She's a big fish in a very small pond, the level of opponent between the male divisions is ridiculous. What she is doing is crazy but it can't be done in today's men's division due to skill of the opponent.

cleaning out a decision that had maybe 3 legit contenders since coming to the UFC? sure, why not...

There were no so called fighters to begin with.
She "cleaned out" an empty division.
Wow!!!!!

Jon Jones, against significantly tougher competition.

LOL.

But Ronda didn't get outwrestled by a SLOW SLOTH like BigFoot, then GnP'd for an entire round. LOL.

Ronda also didn't get outworked by an aging middleweight like Hendo.

Ronda also didn't get triangled in 69 seconds cuz she made rookie GnP mistakes against a grounded opponent.

Ronda is light years beyond Fedor in the RESULTS department.

Ronda is GOAT. Live with it.

Trying too hard buddy.

No other division has had as few fighters inside of it.

There are literally 100 less fighters in the womens divisions compared to LW and WW divisions.

People will take this opportunity to shit on Ronda's opposition, but ironically she is to her division what Anderson, Jon Jones, GSP and Aldo were to theres for YEARS, which is to say - two levels above their competition.

- Anderson went 4 years straight without a serious challenge
- GSP went 6 years without a challenging fight
- Jon Jones had 1 challenging fight in 5 years
- Aldo has been undefeated for nearly 9 years and has sonned pretty much everyone

All these champions steamrolled through their divisions, they all made them look average. The fact is, if you took ANY of those champions out of the equation those divisions become super competitive. Look at Ronda's, you'd have Meisha, Zingano, Nunes, Holly, Davis, Kaufman, McMann and Pena battling for the belt. That's deeper than the UFC's current HW division, and compares favorably to LHW, WW and MW.

People love to tear Ronda down, but fail to see the irony that she is doing exactly what all the UFC's great champs have done - destroyed their divisions and made them look average.

It's either her or GSP imo.:)

Rashad, Forrest, Hendricks.

But yeah, gsp, Jones, Silva, Aldo, mighty mouse

Once again

You are completely wrong

It doesn't matter how shallow/weak the division is...the poll just asks a simple question without any qualifiers. Stop being cvnts.

Having a competitive division doesn't mean that its deep or strong. GSP was a dominant champion in a the one of the strongest divisions in the UFC. Ronda dominance is outsized in a way that makes you question her level of competition.
With all due respect to the top women's bantamweights they aren't on the same level as Cormier, Condit, Diaz, Hendricks, Machida, Evans or Mendes and Faber.
Ronda's fights last mere seconds if your dominance is that outsized either you are superhuman or your competition is not up to par. That doesn't mean Ronda isn't great she is but you have to look at what she is doing in it's proper context. She is a great athlete and Technician when there her contemporaries aren't. All those guys had challenging fights at some point and the guys they beat were more established than Ronda's competitors. Ronda competes in a developing division that has not had a proliferation of talented women coming in to it.

So what are we supposed to say? I never saw anyone armbar barmaids and pole-dancers to get a paper-belt. I guess the answer is no.

If they created a 145 women's divisions, and there were 2 fighters inside of it. Cyborg and whoever. And Cyborg murdered whoever her opponent was, would there be any other UFC champion that cleaned out their division like Cyborg has?

It absolutely does matter how few fighters are inside a division when asking this question.

Nobody lasted more than a couple of minutes against Royce for the first couple of years.

Ken Shamrock had to invent lay and pray to counter him. WMMA isn't at that stage yet.:icon_chee

I think DJ has a tougher division than Ronda....and I think DJ lacks any serious competition.

Lol exactly this... She has 6 fights in the UFC and if that means you've cleaned out your division I think that's saying more about your division than your dominance.

Why even have a top 10 for the division and just cut it to top 5.

Jones, ANderson, GSP.. Although she has been a lot more dominate.

Is any other champion fighting girls? (well, I guess there are 2 female divisions, right? But you get what I mean.)

It's not really a division. They just brought in a few chicks for Ronda to beat.

Gsp cleaned things out for awhile. There was always someone knew to challange him. But they never stood any real chance. Nobody could stop his take down.

Jon Jones has beaten 7 of the current top 10. Machida left the division, would be 8

GSP beat 3 generations of welterweights. Anderson Silva cleared out his division so did Jones.

Jones fought guys who used to be champion (Machida, Vitor, Rampage, Rashad, Cormier, Shogun) and actually ment something in their divisions, and were accomplished fighters even before they came to the UFC. And I am not a Jones fan.

GSP dominated through a bunch of high level, high talent guys. Sure, he lost some fights, won against people who had no business fighting for the title (Hardy) but he fought a lot harder fights than Rousey.

Rousey is a great fighter, world class, top talent, whatever you want to say, you cannot deny she is in the top bracket of wmma, the only other one being cyborg who cannot seem to make weight.

The level of opponents that Rousey is fighting, on the other hand, isn't even comparable to the level of opponents that Jones or GSP had. It is, actually, the same story about Fedor fighting Singh Jaideep.

HW might be shallow, but many fighters have accomplished a lot more in and out the cage. (Wrestling, Sambo, Kickboxing, BJJ)

Jesus Christ stop the fucking hype.

There is this guy called John Jones.

There is this guy called Anderson Silva.

There is this guy called Georges St. Pierre.

They all cleaned out their divisions and vs waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better competition.

Fucking clit huggers shut up the hype train.

Don't forget Aldo.

Has any UFC Champion ever fought in an easier division?

No one else has a division as weak as Rhonda's.

Anderson, GSP, frank Shamrock, Jones kinda so yeah

and yeah i forgot Mighty Mouse and maybe even Cruz
