Cant think of anyone else to be honest who was hyped so much yet hardly accomplished anything, Houston Alexander comes to mind remember thinking this guys gonna finish everyone in the first, meh least we dont have to deal with those gay ass threads anymore with people suckin his dick.

His loss was almost worth it seeing all those platinum dork threads.... almost.

My votes for makwan or Todd duffee.

I still don't know how many people were legit on his hype train and how many were just fucking around.

Sherdog GOATBposter GUERNICA here and I feel like I need to clear somethings up.

mike was just a man. The Platinum Title is a calling and a way of life. Much respect for mike, living that lifestyle and honoring the Platinum name but it's time to salute the new Platinum Champ:

I can't remember one coming to an end this quickly.

Some great suggestions above, like Duffee and Jury, but those hype-trains lasted for a while at least.

This was satisfying though, almost as much as that cocky prick Jury.

I don't think I've seen one derailed that quickly, but I don't think I've seen a hype train quite like that for someone that hadn't beaten anyone. At least Houston beat Jardine before his hype train picked up steam.

This was a fake hype train to try and hit back at the Conor fans. It was a literal rip off. Calling him the GOAT like they did for Conor after 1 fight in the UFC. Now Conor is actually not a joke anymore and people hate it.

I was thinking Makwan as well.

    Also

Sokodjou - Came in hyped to hell with wins over Lil Nog and Arona, hype didn't last too long once he got to the UFC though.

Cyrille Diabate - After Diabate made his UFC debut against Luiz Cane there was a brief moment where people were calling him the next big thing, but he failed to be consistent in the UFC and the hype died very fast.

Luiz Cane - People were hyping this guy up like crazy before Lil Nog smashed him.

Different case. The promotion may have tried to hype him but the public was always sceptical at best.
