In the history of ufc titles has there ever been a healthy actively fighting champ who has forced a situation where an interim belt is created in the division they hold the title in due them them not defending and not being stripped of title either? Or is Conor the first to do this?
So that rules out suspensions or injuries

Tito ran like hell from Chuck, set up an interim title match between him and Randy.

Just like Gabe, Tito refused to fight Chuck while Teets was reigning LHW Champion.

Randy? Jones with DC being the interim champ :p

oh look, TS is bitching about Conor again

I honestly don't think McGregor wants to go back down to 145.

Jon Jones, if by healthy you mean physically. It's amazing that he is young enough to still be as dominant as ever moving forward.

Side note: you guys should really be watching the Tony's. Hamilton is killing it. And these performances are amazing. Get some culture in you sherbros.

Yeah, Tito was the only guy I could think of off the top of my head.

When Frank Shamrock walked away did they intern his belt or did Tito win the title?

Randy is the only answer, and his was him refusing to fight in the UFC so that's a little different. The UFC would have stripped him, but as long as they left him as champ they could strong arm him with his contract. The idea of a healthy champ refusing to defend so he can moonlight else where is a bit of a headscratcher

Hard to say.
Nick Diaz once said that one of the champs wasn't hurt, but was scared.

Was Nick referring to the same champ that UDed Nick 50-45, and had him crawling back to his corner?

Conor would defend his title but I think that weight cut is literally too hard on him especially now he is a millionaire.

Yep interim belt was invented for this situation whem tito refused to fight chuck so they made randy vs chuck for interim belt
