Im trying to compile a list a cancelled fights in UFC in 2017 as compared to Boxing and Kickboxing.
I wonder why UFC seems to be the worst sport when it comes to fighter injuries, fighters failing drug tests, or fighters not being able to make weight.
This is crushing the ufc. It makes the ufc look like an amateur organization. I find it ironic that when the UFC started trying to go more professional in the recent years, more fights have been cancelled than ever.
At some point, do the fighters need to be held responsible for all of this? Not only for the fans, but for their opponents who in some cases don't get paid if they don't have a fight.
Should fighters be punished for missing weight...which is a breach of contract?
Perhaps they need to be babysat in training, and be forced to limit their training in the week or 2 weeks leading up to the fight, so they don't get injured and ruin the events.
same goes for getting sick, but I think that needs more leeway.
