Law Harriet Tubman to replace slave-owner Andrew Johnson on $20 Bill

How about Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Jackson, etc?
Probably them too. Let's be honest here, America's founders did some great things but also supported a lot of bad things. They were imperialists, who supported the ethnic cleansing of Native Americans.

Yes, I'm sure this decision on the $20 bill change has taken up all Biden's team's time since the inauguration. They are probably exhausted. Probably 12 to 14 hour days to get this done. Can't believe they're not working on things that are actually important. It's an affront to the nation.

Biden gets exhausted just from waking up. I'm sure his Weekend From Bernies handlers already had this substance free gesture ready to go. In fact it's been a high priority for a number of years now. Much more important than real problems facing Americans due to leftist policy, like not being able to work or see family.

good choice.
i don't know why the left is so happy though.
that woman was nothing like them. she wasn't a whiner, she didn't beg for help, she didn't expect shit for free and she probably would spit on the absolute state of degeneracy the left is pushing.
heck, she should be a conservative symbol. you dumbasses got it all wrong.

I mean, Franklin was never President anyway, so that was always dumb.

And I’m not seeing how we get from Harriet Tubman to fairy tale characters but whatever.
Yeah, forgot that he wasn't. And he's the one everyone wants lol

I really don't care what's on my money, as long as I can provide for my family with it. Fairytale characters wasn't necessarily serious, just an idea that wouldn't offend anyone

So when conservatives were saying it's a slippery slope, they were correct.
By that same logic, can we cancel Lyndon "I'll have those n**gers voting Demecrat for the next 100 years" Johnson? Or Joe "I don't want my kids going to a racial jungle" Biden? Or nah?

You guys are 27 trillion dollars in debt sherbro so im thinking that money could be spent on other stuff than his
And still spending like we DGAF.
I'm not saying it shouldn't be an issue, but we don't operate like it is. And changing this money is going to be like spending pennies compared to what we are regularly wasting money on.
When we start worrying about addressing the debt, cutting down on ink for money printing isn't going to do jack squat to address it.

Even if we weren't in debt, we still wouldn't spend the money on better things.

So... this means Americans will start saying "Tubbies" instead of "Jacksons", and there'll be a new drugs package denomination called a "Tub-Bag"?

So the debt matters again?
Not sure what you expect me to say here. That is your debt, its not my debt. Maybe ask yourself if you think its better to spend money virtue signaling on the paper that is your money or spend that same amount of money on something that could be beneficial for people

Also i never ever mentioned americas debt on sherdog before so its kinda weird to reply with so the debt matters again

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered…History has stopped. Nothing exists except the endless present in which the party is always right” — George Orwell

George Orwell was a socialist.

You're just mad that a black woman will be on your 20s.

He was literally a democratic socialist. You people are daft to say the least.

It's funny how these guys keep using the Orwell quote, or an MLK quote, or even quotes from the Bible as if any of these people would be on their side. Orwell was a democratic socialist, MLK was at the very least heavily influenced by socialism, and Jesus would not be a Republican today.

They need to keep Orwell's name out they mouthsss

That Joe Biden quote is not accurate, it is spread by rightwing social media to inaccurately portray what he said. He didn't say what that pulled out of context is suggesting

No one is going to lionize LBJ, because of Vietnam. Don't you recall seeing old footage and history class courses featuring that famous anti-war slogan : "Hey hey LBJ, how many kids did you kill today"

Whether it is or isn't a slippery slope is a matter on what constitutes a slippery slope and if a slipper slope is even necessarily bad in all cases. If one is going to denounce the Confederacy and its support for slavery then I can't see how one can simultanously defend American imperialism against Native Americans.

Okay you’re right Orwell was really a fascist lover. Any more history you want to re write
Orwell’s rediscovery of his sense of patriotism deepened his understanding of how fascism had used patriotic and nationalist concepts to win over the masses. In his argument that patriotism must play a major role in rallying the middle and working classes to fight against fascism, Orwell was one of the first intellectuals to remove the curse from this concept that had been in disrepute since World War I. Later in his essay “Notes on Nationalism,” written in May 1945 just as Nazi Germany was defeated, he would draw the valuable distinction between patriotism, which he regarded as a natural human sentiment, and nationalism, which he saw as a vehicle for one nation or group to dominate and control others.

Your last line killed me, truer words have never been spoken :)
Sometimes i just wish people in power would prioritize people and not stuff like this when its time to open the bag of money

The context is the same... Kamalah called him out on it too.
And if you denounce imperialism, you'd have to denounce the systemically racist Biden crime bill that put blacks in modern day slavery. Looks like the slippery slope is in fact bad. There is no people on earth without sin.
