Ramis leaves behind a formidable body of work, with writing credits on such enduring comedies as “National Lampoon’s Animal House” (which upon its 1978 release launched the film career of John Belushi, a former Second City castmate of Ramis’), “Stripes” (1981) and “Ghostbusters” (in which Ramis also co-starred) plus such directing efforts as “Caddyshack” (1980), “National Lampoon’s Vacation” (1983), “Groundhog Day” and “Analyze This.”

One of the greatest comedy minds in Hollywood history. He will be sorely missed. I suppose this finally means there's no chance for a Ghostbusters 3. Very very sad news. :icon_cry2:icon_cry2

Was just about to post this. Sad news. Strips, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters all great.

Sad to hear about this.

It's fitting EgonSpengler made this thread.

The only good thing from this is that Ghostbusters III will hopefully now be permabinned. Sad news otherwise. I'd no idea he'd been ill.

Ghostbusters is one of my all-time favorites. He will be missed.

enjoyed his work. RIP.

Also, i really hope this finally puts an end to Ghostbusters 3, reboot, or whatever now.

Thanks for making it a shitty Monday, Reaper.

Here's a rather appropriate SCTV sketch...
