Hardest Punching LW in the UFC?

LW Penn has a lightning fast sledge hammer in his right hand.
 
Even though he's on the fringes of being cut, Melvin.
 
Maynard?

What the hell, besides Edgar fights, puts him in the running?
 
To add to the Gomi, Guillard and Stephens list I'd lime to add Eddie Alvarez. Been watching him since early days and has 14 TKO/KO finishes. Hope he gets a path to the UFC

Bendo, Maynard or Diaz?

I don't care for the guy, but I have little doubt that any of those dudes punches harder than Melvin.

Also Guillard with out a doubt. Forget everything else. All his pros and cons aside I've never seen a Lightweight who hits faster or harder.

Sure, he seems to hit relatively hard and have hurt a few people, but he is not a finisher (two ko/tkos in 2006 and 2007) and not someone who crushes people with punches over time.

Well, because those things or not really the same. Michael Bisping is not a big puncher at all, and has plenty of finishes attained pretty much exclusively due to punches.

A lot of Maynard punches are obviously really hard, he can't capitalize though, or even land another one on hurt opponent.

Id say Gomi, but if Melvin fought Gomi I think Melvin wins with KO....
