I'm a fan of both Silva and Weidman; both are fantastic fighters/competitors. I had a party last night for the fight, attended largely by intelligent followers of UFC. Pretty much everybody there was let down by the result. Not because Weidman won, but because we wanted to see the fight play out. We missed out on that twice now.

That said, it's insane to log on here and read countless posts of "Weidman won, wasn't weird, all questions answered, better than Silva." Yes Weidman won, and yes he decisively won all rounds in both fights. But if you can't look at the two fights and admit that we are left with unanswered questions of what might have happened in the fight, you are a ridiculous person. Being so black and white with tunnel-vision is detrimental to your development as a human.

Huge props to Weidman, he'll make a fantastic champion. None of this is his fault. He's a beast and I can't wait to see him fight Vitor!!!

Weidman had a plan, both fights... Different plans. He's disciplined, athletic, talented, and capable if improvisation when it matters.

He won every round of both fights.

Nothing to prove re: Silva

If he has the right plan for the next fight we'll know, but I'm buying it right now.

Well said, TS. Especially the warnings about their development being hampered by being such subjective f--cks.

I think the majority of fans aren't happy with how the fight ended, regardless of who they were rooting for. Anticlimatic ending foe a main event, not to mention what was at stake in the fight.

weidman won every round of both fights and was the clear cut winner both times. This is a fact, not an opinion.

How many times do you want them to fight? What if they fight a 3rd time and Weidman TKO's him with GnP in the 1st rd? Are you gonna say they should fight a 4th time because it wasnt fair how quick it ended?

Weidman used a perfect defense to beat a guy who seemed to have a perfect offense.

We heard perfectly checked kicks can really damage the guy throwing the kick. Last night was an example of how to check a kick properly. Weidman did it a few times. Wasnt like it was just one checked kick.

Future fighters will be hesitant to kick Weidman now :)

This is where I stand. As a Silva fan I can't say I would be happy if he was knocked out again but for me their is still that question of what if... I'm not denying that Weidman had control of both fights but that question will linger for me what happens if the fight continues.

We've seen leg kicks checked exactly like the one Weidman checked last night a million times in UFC, and we've only seen two gross broken legs. It wasn't a magical check of the kick, it was a freak break.

Again, props to Weidman, he did everything perfect both fights. Not his fault Silva acted like an ass in their first fight, and suffered a freak break in the second. ANOTHER NY CHAMPION!!!

Anderson fan here.

First fight left no questions. Anderson got KO'd standing. I don't buy the 'he wasn't serious' shit. He was frustrated by his lack of getting anything going in that fight, and he paid for it.

Second fight, well it might have left a question, but not much of one. Anderson got mauled in the 1st round, and he may have been getting into a bit of a groove in the 2nd, but wasn't really landing much offensively yet again. I was waiting for Chris to take him down for a repeat of round 1.

In the end, Chris is/was simply the better fighter. Not sure how anyone could dispute otherwise.

Silva kicked really hard without setting the kick up and Weidman checked it. Freak break yes. Result was not an accident though.

Weidman won due to having superior technique. But of course some Silva fanboys still will discredit the win. Silva lost. Plain and simple. Weidman is the better fighter.
