I think i eat well and i lift weights for about 1hr 30min and do about 30min of cardio a day
the thing is i do tend to drink quite often of hard alcohol.
My question is
Does Hard Alcohol turn straight into fat? or sugar? or is it just empty calories to burn in due time?

Depends on what you're drinking it with, unless you're talking rum which is made from sugar... do you mix it with soda?

Also, make sure you drink a ton of water as alcohol is a diuretic and dehydrates you.

Rum doesn't have many carbs actually. If your worried about sugar, then as a general rule stay away from liquers and scnapps and the like, and most mixed drinks if that's your style.

Hard alcohol is bad for your organs and therfor bad for you, but to be honest unless your getting completly pissed every night you should be fine according to what you said about yourself.

I thought bacardi and diet coke was only like 70 calories and 0 carbs.

IIRC, that's what the commercials claim.

If rum is made of sugar, how can it not have any carbs?

any calories you dont burn off that you ingest get stored of fat, assuming everything is "normal" with you

Sugar is the food for micro organisms such as yeast to eat the waste product being alcohol. Technically all carbs are sugar, which is why you can make some kind of booze out of a lot of plants. So to answer your other question, alcohol has some calories but no carbs, its the other part of the drink that has the bulk of the carbs, calories, and for that matter the flavor.

Actually, the reason why alcohol (low carb or not) is bad for your fat loss goals is that it produces this thing called acetate in your body. Your body will then use that as its primary fuel source instead of fat. Depending how much you drink, it might take up to a week to burn off all that acetate to finally hit those fat stores.

This is actually a good thing. Since it turns into acetate, it doesn't get stored as fat itself. So, of the 7.1 calories per gram of alcohol, not a lot of it gets stored as fat.

The down side is that double 1/4 with cheese that you eat at 2 in the morning DOES get completely stored, since your body doesn't need any immediate energy considering it has a shit load of acetate around.

I am unaware of how long acetate is around, but I highly think its a week. Partly because acetate is toxic, and you get more hungover from that rather than the alcohol. I am pretty sure shortly after your hangover is over (or when you get up if you dont have one) you have metabolized all of that acetate.

For the sugar/rum thing, the yeast converts the sugar to alcohol, so there is very little, if any, sugar left in rum. There are still plenty of calories in rum (around 100 per oz.) but no sugar.

Most alcohols will turn directly into fat... Bourbon and whiskey however have been linked by numerous studies to not only a reduction in bodyfat, but an increase in lean mass, sex appeal, dancing skills, and elevated testosterone levels.

Unacceptable. On a side note though, if the 12 oz bottles are getting too heavy, consider putting down your purse and using both hands to lift it to your mouth.

Urban, since you are always a grammar nazi, and I have seen you type this before I wonder if you are right. You say "Burbon and whiskey." Shouldn't you either say just "whisk(e)y", or "Burbon and other whiskies" or something else? That is like me saying "I like steak and meat."

I am so confused now.

I don't drink beer -- but now I don't know what hard shit to drink. (I am trying to lose weight.)

Single Malt Scotch with no more than two icecubes. The only thing you mix it with is stomach acid.

Stick with hard liquors (vodka, rum, whiskey, gin, tequila) and mix them with mixers that have few added calories (diet sodas work well) or drink them straight. This will let you get drunk with the minimum calorie intake
