Hand Grip Helper for COC's

A jubilee clip on top of the spring works quite well too I've heard.

I haven't used one. Seems like a waste of money to me, I'd wrather spend 1.50 on a hose clamp and/or file down the handle to extend the ROM and add difficulty.

here's my #2

THey seem to last for a long time (mine don't show much sign of damage) they do make it slightly uncomfortable to use the gripper, but this can be reduced somewhat by stripping off the plastice coating. They're nice for a change, but with the new .5 grippers, hose clamps and plenty of other ways t train your grip they're really not essential.

Yeah, i was thinking i could save a bit of money with getting the hand gripper helper instead of getting the 1.5 gripper in between the no. 2.

Urban, is it way harder to close that extra cm you filed off of your gripper?

I got some because they were cheap when i was ordering two grippers, but i can say i've got much use out of them. I've got small hands so i find quite hard to get the helper and gripper in my hand at the same time. For me they felt very uncomfottable, and made it much harder for me to hold the gripper properly.

To the best of my ability I measured the resistance my number 2 provides and it's close to an easy three... so to answer your question, yes, that cm and the hose clamps (2 of them because one kept loosening up) add a significant amount of resistance.

Thanks for the feedback, i don't have large hands myself so just to avoid any problems im going to pass on the gripper helper, and just get the 1.5 and 2. I think i might file down my No. 1 gripper though to add to the difficulty.

Hammar sports does have an adjustable gripper that claims to be able to run the whole CoC gamut.

Haven't tried it, but I've been tempted.

I 2nd hose clamps for toughening a gripper....you an add a ton of extra resistance...plus you can adjust it by turning the screw....

filing gripper is one of the best ways to progress fast....esp doing negs and forced closes/time holds....

COC helper is waste of money really....along with the IM Tugs....

I can close a 2.5 but can't close my clamped 2, so the extra resistacne is quite formidable.

I just got my first CoC gripper last night.

I bought the Number 2. I can get it to close to about .5 inch between the handles. Is it supposed to close all the way? I've never really done grip training and I dont want to break/misuse it.

So should i be striving to get the two handles to touch?

How do you guys do negatives? do you just assist with the other hand to close then slowly let it open back up?

I have that helper and I don't like it. It just too hard tio hold on to, especially when I am closing a hard gripper. It also hurts quite a bit too. It really isn't that necessary now that the .5 gippers are out.

Mine goes to 1/4" - I think yours must already be broken!

Yes touch the handles...the last 1/4" is the hardest (so I've heard...i'm not that far)

The last bit is the hardest.

I could only close mine to about half an inch when I got it, but after a couple of weeks of infrequent tries, it is now down to 1/4 of an inch, so hopefully in a few more weeks I will close it.

I think you should just keep squeezing it as hard as possible and do some negatives (close it with both hands and then try to keep it closed)

Keep Trying & Good Luck

Yes - the close is the only important thing.

really? because my hands are rocked today after a good workout last night. i could only close it with negatives...

I close tough grippers against the side of my leg...pressing top of my fingers/knuckles into the leg...then fight the gripper all the way on the negative....or try to do time holds at any point where i can hold the gripper constant....

last 1/8" is the most brutal......
