here's a soldier sentenced:Abu Ghraib became public knowledge in 2003 and the administration apologized within the year (Israel isn't even at this step in many atrocities). Charges started in the year or two after the apology, with publicly known investigations in that intervening time.
For the Mahmudiyah killings and rape, you got convictions within a year.
It's a long list, and most of those atrocities were swept under the rug. Meeting the bar set by the US in Iraq or Afghanistan is an incredibly low bar, and Israel isn't even close to hitting that metric. Can you name a single conviction or charging of an IDF soldier since this round of conflict started?
You're also missing the big picture here: Imperial crimes always come home. For America, you saw this in more militarized and brutal policing and policing for the sake of institutional perpetuation. In Israel, you'll see something similar: all those soldiers who were taught brutality and excessive violence are to be encourage din war time will come home, and some will take that into policing.

Israel soldier jailed for abusing Palestinian detainees from Gaza
Israel's military says he punched detainees and used his weapon while they were handcuffed and blindfolded.www.bbc.com
The second one literally had the base stormed for starting the investigation and politicians saying even rape was justified against the prinsoners..here's 5 soldiers indicted:

5 IDF reservists indicted for severe abuse of Palestinian detainee at Sde Teiman
Indictment says soldiers broke prisoner's ribs, caused internal tear in his rectum during assault at detention facility in Julywww.timesofisrael.com
and as you know, most killings of innocents through "mistakes" or negligence or even with intent went unpunished with our own forces. and it's certainly true in most conflicts. and most militaries understand that the fog of war is real, and people make real mistakes with tragic consequences.
and concluding causation between military practices in foreign lands to local police practices is a stretch. it's the policies in wartime that get stricter, and the tolerance gets lower, intentionally.

UK sanctions Israeli ministers over Gaza comments
Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich will both face a travel ban, the UK says.www.bbc.co.uk
At last!
Of course, Israel's mask off moment comes as they defend these horrible people, but I'm delighted we are taking some action at long, long last.
This war is no excuse for settler violence or continued expansion of settlements.
Israel seem to.
Sound and fury, signifying nothing.
It will have as much effect on what Israel does in Gaza as Greta's boat.
The first one says “in addition to the prison sentence” and the 2nd one was indictments 7 months after some on the far right started shit. So these are legit examples that address the question of “Can you name a single conviction or charging of an IDF soldier since this round of conflict started?”The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the reservist, who it did not name, was convicted over "several incidents in which he punched the detainees with his fists and used his weapon while they were handcuffed and blindfolded".
"These acts were committed in the presence of other soldiers, some of whom called on him to stop, and were even documented on the defendant's mobile phone," it added.
The Haaretz newspaper said he was the first soldier convicted of abusing Gazans held during the war with Hamas.
They related to four separate incidents between January and June 2024, when he was guarding lorries transporting detainees, it said.
According to Haaretz, the court found an unspecified number of masked soldiers, whose identities remain unknown, had also participated in the abuse.
In addition to the prison term, the convicted soldier was also given a suspended sentence and demoted to the rank of private, according to the IDF.
In Israeli law, a suspended sentence is a term of imprisonment that is not served immediately. The sentence is only activated if the offender commits another crime within a specified period, known as the conditional period.
Clever way they phrase it lol
im really not sure sure being unnamed and unpunished counts man
The second one literally had the base stormed for starting the investigation and politicians saying even rape was justified against the prinsoners..
Neither are great examples. If anything they make me more suspicious
A group of far-right activists rioted outside the Sde Teiman IDF base in the south, and dozens — including Heritage Minister Amichay Eliyahu of Otzma Yehudit and Religious Zionism MK Zvi Sukkot — broke into the facility, which is being used as a detention center for Palestinian terror suspects. Police officers later arrived at the site and began removing the protesters. It was not immediately clear how many took part and if any were arrested.
Still waiting for you to link where Hamas agreed to disarm…..No I'm not, go look at your buddies. One of y'all even had a fake account "Ihatejuice" that started all of this shit. You ain't putting that laugh emoji thing on me, I've only done it in retaliation. That's your side's thing. Thanks for boosting my reaction ratio though.
Very defeatist.
Never take any small action unless it has a huge and profound, game-changing impact? That makes no sense at all.
I have to wonder what the purpose of this negativity is? Is it knee jerk?
Very realistic.
The UK is a pathetic shadow of our former power and status. No one gives a fuck what we think. Least of all the Red Sea Pedestrians, who can count on support from the only country that really matters: America.
But hey, if this small action helps you sleep better at night, who am I to judge? Just don't expect it to have any impact in the real world.
Bizarre.
Likewise, this odd diatribe must help you feel better about yourself somehow.
It is what it is.
Found his name. Which helps. Now we can name one =)The first one says “in addition to the prison sentence” and the 2nd one was indictments 7 months after some on the far right started shit. I just enjoy pissing on the parades of people who think meaningless gesture politics like this will have any effect. And yes, it does make me feel better.![]()
Yep. I'm sure it does. You've had your moan, it's changed nothing for me, we move on.
And all the moaning in this thread won't change a single thing in Gaza or Israel.

Cool.
Goes for the entire forum tho lolAnd all the moaning in this thread won't change a single thing in Gaza or Israel.
