It's going to be a bloodbath. They're projecting an unemployment rate of up to 20%

Long story short, AI is getting rid of entry level white collar jobs

And that's just to start

The good news is that my ex is a dumb bitch who keeps flaunting her career all over social media making $250k in San Francisco working for Indeed, a work placement tech giant. Can't wait for her to get laid off. She kept talking shit because I'm in the trades making less than half what she mad working with my hands. It's going to be glorious. She has a non existant work experience with non-white collar work.

and that's very worrying.

It makes the most sense. A computer is more accurate and productive then a human and comes with significantly less potential issues. Likely better for the customer as well.

I hope you're right. I don't think you are.
Chat GPT, Gemini, etc hallucinate basic stuff fairly frequently. Happened to me just the other day. I saw a gif of Bisping popping his eye out, was curious what exactly happened, and asked. It talked about detached retinas and the Vitor fight, but then it finished up with something like "However, Michael Bisping came back to win that fight."

I definitely saw that one and that didn't happen lol. I don't think it's really ready for prime time acting like that.

I'd take a toddler to provide word counts over chatgpt lol. I don't think people who don't work with LLMs regularly understand their drawbacks.

Show me AI picking fruit and we can talk.

Fruit picking robots have made giant leaps in the last year and getting better every week

only gonna get better as AI becomes more powerful and robotics becomes more advanced

How lovely.

Starting in the 1950s robotics greatly change the blue color workforce. It resulted in many job losses. Off shoring jobs hurt blue collar work also but automation from what I've read was the main driver of blue collar job losses.

It wouldn't surprise me that AI computer technology changes the white collar work place, resulting in many job lay offs.

I didn't read the artible but recall seeing an article title saying that AI will also create new jobs. That's probably true. The AI job creation is not likely to be as large as job layoffs though is my guess.

It does call into question the importance of having a college degree. At least it does for me. Most will likely not benefit from having a college degree with AI being used.

I figure this explains why colleges are more focused on allowing students protests, promoting social issues to chant against, and less concern with teaching education basics. Being a college protestor is in general though not much of a benefit to society. Professors like it though as it helps create University jobs.

Indeed. Check this out:

The people who cheer for AI and robotics are short sighted in my opinion. If you think the world will pay for your lifestyle while you chill in a free home while eating free food and play for free you are foolish.

Like an unproductive machine, why keep people who serve no purpose?

Nobody is living like that.
