In six months, Hydra will stand master of Sherdog. Borne to victory on the wings of Valkyries. Other teams will be powerless against us. If they beat one of our PR's, two more shall take it's place.

Hail Hydra!:icon_twis

Gentlemen, welcome to your Team Log for the Winter Lifters Overhead Press Competition 2015. Please let me know your Starting Maxes as soon as possible, and remember that all Competition PR's must be filmed or they will not count.

You don't have to post every workout in this Thread, although I intend to do so. This Thread is for PR's, any questions you may have and mutual support.

I am very excited to lead this Team.

I'll test my 1RM tomorrow. My training max is 145 and I expect that to be pretty close to my actual max. My all time max was 155lbs which was from 3 years ago (time to fix that!).

I think everyone should post all their overhead workouts in here to keep the motivation high and create a good atmosphere. I like to see my team putting in the work, Let's get it done!

Great to have you on board, SSDD. I start a new program on Monday, designed specifically to improve Pressing Strength. I will post all my workouts here and in my personal Log.

Sup ladies,

Doing SS at 85 SOHP for 5x5 should be nearing my max in about a month, hope i can blow right by it

tested my 1RM this afternoon.

125 lbs SOHP

I tried 130 and couldnt move it more than an inch.

I'm switching to madcow in the next week or so, so I'll be deloading and getting back at it.

Thanks for drafting me KT. Feels good :)

I'm on vacation in Mexico right now (Awww yeaaahh) and did 8,8,6 with 40 pound Dumbells in each hand in the little fitness center this morning for overhead press. Right arm (surgery side on August) got weak and I couldn't finish at 8.

I think 145 is a fair max, unless someone else has a different notion based off the obove workout that apparently took me to failure. Won't have access to a barbell until January 19th or 20th.

Glad to have you on our Team, Hockey.

If anything, I think 145lbs is a little high for a guy just recovering from shoulder surgery. According to the 1 Rep Max Calculators I tried, 8X80 means your 1 RM is about 100lbs.

Dumbell vs barbell tho, plus should he gaining faster than most due to the injury recovery. I haven't done much since logging that 10 rep that equalled to 135 so with even just one workout I should be better (Jeep broke down, finals week graduation, Christmas, ect Been back 2nd half November and all December.) not sure if it's he too late to wait until like Jan 26th to see what I can do? If not, keep the 145 for a challenge. As I for fucking sure want to be back to 185 in June. I will be. But your call Knights

Dumbbell vs Barbell is a fair point. I'll split the difference; 115lbs as a SM.

I will do some testing on Monday to see where I'm at. I'm thinking it's about 170 or so, but I haven't tested it in a while.
