I'm not even asking this as a joke. They just quite simply would have been a great match-up for one another. So who would have won between Jason Von Flue and Cody McKenzie and how?
Jason had one Von Flue choke, McKenzie had like 12 (and like 11 in a row) McKenzietines. So Cody by his favourite submission.
I think I would have my money on Von Flue. I think Cody even tried a Kenzientine, Von Flue would find a way to turn it into a Von Flue choke. Both had terrible stand up...but JVF might have been slightly more technical......slightly...
Wasn't the "Von flue Choke" set up by giving his neck up for the guillotine? It's been a while and i can't quite recall, so that makes me think it'd be Von Flue, but i recall how interesting it was seeing him put someone out with it.
Actually some of my favorite fighters are the gamers. The guys with nearly 50 - 50 records but that sometimes find a way to win against opponents you would never expect them to beat. And that always come to fight. Let's see. Some of my favorites are: Von Flue win over Jorge Gurgel Cody McKenzie win over Marcus LeVesseur Matt Horowich win over Thiago Silva Phil Baroni win over Ryo Chonan and Yuki Kondo Pete Spratt win over Matt Brown Minowa win over Sokodjou etc.
Basically if someone made the mistake of trying to hold onto the Guillotine when he escaped to half guard, he could turn it into a Von Flue choke...I think that is how it works.
well the McKenzitine has proven to work even in side control but the Von Flue choke is best used when your opponent is holding a guillotine in side control i think double technical submission
The Von Flue is amazing. I remember when Jason hit it the first time. Everyone was stunned, especially his unconscious opponent and Joe Rogan.
