Damnit.

Last friday im downloading a TV show and I hit the wrong link and its a virus link. This has happened before but this time it downloaded like 100 files.

I think my virus scanner gets it all but no. Next day my phone is plugged in to my desktop charging and I get a message from my phone company.

"You have used 91% of your monthly data".

My data cycle starts on the 14th, so 2 days prior getting a 91% usage notice isnt uncommon. My data was off but my wifi was on. Im thinking its a late message and no worry.

5 minutes later another message. "You have used 100% of your data".
Im like wtf? Weird. My data is still off, wifi still on.

I cant figure out how I used all this data while on Wi-Fi, and not even using my phone.

Next morning I wake up and check my phone, wifi isnt working. I reset my router and as Im waiting I turn on my data plan.

Instantly i get

"You have gone 50 dollars over your data limit and its now disabled"

Im like wtf i havent even touched my phone.

My only conclusion is somehow my wifi cut out while it was downloading or something.

I call my phone company they dont know.

My computer completely dies after and wont start again

Today I get message at 9am ppl are accessing my email

I change my passwords and cancel my only credit card.

How the fuck did they turn the data on my phone on

edit: computer fixed now!

Thats a pretty smart virus to cross over to your cellphone and start using its data

Must have been a person in my computer imo. My first impression was no way can a hacker do that but now i dont know. Seems they can

No way they killed the computer but you'll definitely need a full wipe.

So im down an 800$ computer, $50, and in a fit of rage smashed my lg g6 worth about 400

Good stuff
I was going to offer advice until you posted this.

Good luck being successful in life.

sure makes spending a few bucks on a movie seem like a good idea in comparison, also, the hackers are obviously gonna use your sherdog account, the most valuable thing on your phone and PC.

I hope not. I taped my g6 back together and since I only smashed the back it still works!

A repair shop would probably sell you the disk for $50. They pay 30 I think. It's not rocket science to do a clean install. I bought a 4k monitor and my graphics card was stuck in the wrong resolution so was blacked out. I rebooted (with the power button) like 5 times, and it scrambled the OS. I re installed in about 3 hrs, re added all my programs and was back up in total 6 hrs. I used the boot iso on a usb, which you can get from microsofts website. I never even had to put in a cd key

I did the usb boot before but it was a pain in the ass. I know I can prolly fix it unless thehard drive is toast.

Its messed up i had a virus from one of those fight streams it was bookmarking porn and other weird addresses in my browser, but they were not official book marks if i typed something in the web browser it would show up.

Is there anyway to protect from this?

sounds like a terrible virus usually they just destroy all your pictures.

That sounds like your browser was opening tabs or windows to those sites, the addresses were stored in your history and now if you type po it's displaying the history address of pornh**.

Clear your history, set it to erase each time you close browser anyways, and check if it is still happening.
