Was looking at Jermell Charlo and was suprised he only currently has 50% stoppage ratio, with the majority of his KO's in the last 3 years

Hurd started with 8/14 stoppages. Then after 2015, he went 7/8 stoppages (the non-KO being Lara, whom Hurd would have finished if there was more time)

Hearns became a wrecking machine after he turned pro.

Mosley was more of a boxer in his early pro days, and became more and more of a puncher stylewise. Dunno if the stats show it, though. It's more of a visual impression.

Marquez was always a puncher. It's a nice narrative that doping can somehow make a puncher, but it's fairly ridiculous.

He ain't one punch KO anyone worthwhile ever.
Especially a guy he couldn't down once in 36 rounds while younger but suddenly somehow drops him twice in 4 rounds in his last fight. ThE second by ktfo.
All while being trained by a known super drug cheat while suddenly transforming to a Hulk wth bacne.......at 40ish.

That's not true Mosley was known because of his power, even when he first started at lighter weight classes, it's when he moved up his knockout % went down a little, but he still had very good power and still could drop anybody.

I hate to say it, but that's one of the signs of a PED user.

you don't think PEDs can improve power? you don't think power is a factor when it comes to knocking people out?

As I said the guy always had a lot of KOs, but as he went up in weight he boxed less and got way more stationary, looking for one big punch instead of stopping them after he boxed them up. His KO ratio did not move up, but he boxed more like a puncher.

It is a possibility.

He had a more dramatic victory than usual but he was always a good finisher.

Who did Pac ever KO like he did Hatton?

It was the technique, the guy ran right into a big counter shot he didn't see coming.

I was far more surprised by the first kd in that Marquez-manny fight than the 2nd.

Does kinda make you wonder

Small improvements, sure, but nothing too appreciable, especially in a sport with weight classes. Don't get me wrong; PEDs can offer incredible benefits for boxers, but pure power wouldn't necessarily be one of the most improved categories.

oh i wasn't even talking about marquez specifically, just the general notion that PEDs can't improve your ability to KO people.

and pure power isn't the only factor when it comes to knocking people dead. technique, timing, speed, power... they're all necessary. speed and power can be improved dramatically through the use of PEDs. i don't see what's absurd about the notion someone got on the juice and started knocking people out.
