Gustafsson and Jones have the best chins in the LHW division

None of this "get rocked every single fight but recover" like Hendo or Shogun, but legitimate chins that prevent either guy from being faltered. Jones took tremendous punishment from a dude who has a crazy finishing rate and Gustafsson ate so many elbows and headkicks (as well as showed his chin during Shogun/Thiago fights) that any other person would've given up (ie. Shogun, Machida after 1 elbow on the ground) He was hurt in round 4, though much of that can be contributed to him being gassed as shit.


Truly these two are some of the most impressive physical specimens.
 
Gustafsson was taking huge knees and elbows when completely exhausted. Incredible chin.
 
they;re both young and their chins have been relatively untested compared to some of the veteran fighters..

your chin is a punching card, you can only take so much punishment before it becomes your achilies heel

it also helps that jones was fighting small ass lhws/middleweights for the past few fights so i wouldn't expect them to take the shots as well as GUS who's the same size as jones.
 
Hendos fought everyone and as I recall the only person to knock him down was Fedor...who umm is pretty fucking good and hits pretty fucking hard. So yea he has a case. But yeah both guys looked tough as nails tonight
 
The best chin is Mousasi for obvious reasons. TBH Jones never really got hit enough before tonite to asses his chin. But it seems ok

Shogun has the best chin in the division imo. He took a couple of flush H-Bombs and walked them off like a boss. Hendo's chin is right up there too. Jones and Gus do have good chins but it's easy to have a good chin early in your career, it's when your chin has stood the test of time that it becomes certified Iron, Diamond or similar adjectives.
 
How can Hendo have the best chin when he was getting rocked by guys like Carlos Newton, Alan Goes, Guy Mezger, etc...

Dude also got totally rocked by Wanderlei, Shogun, Fedor, Feijao, and others I am forgetting. He's got insane recovery and an excellent chin, but he's not better than Gus or Jones. He would've been finished by Jones today if they had fought.
