Are people still forgetting how bad jones got his ass kicked by gustaffson? The rematch needs to happen before any talks of jones being goat happens.

That rematch is gonna be something else.
I'd lean towards Jones again though but anything can happen when they fight.

Jones didn't train takedowns in the 1st fight doe. Watch out in the rematch coz he will train em till his kneecaps bleed.

    Gus KO, round 1.

Bones by sub. I'm not sure whether I believe his 'easy training camp' quote re: The first fight though.

That being said: If Bones can take him down [Which I think he will] he will sub Alex.

It's still a pick-em though in my mind. If Gustaffson has improved as much as he did post Davis & he can keep the fight standing, he will cruise to a UD. His boxing is too crisp & his movement is too varied on the feet. Bones was lost last fight & he won't close the gap enough to win if it stays standing a second time.

I can't wait for the butthurt after Jones beats Gus again. It will probably rival what went on here after he beat Shogun.

I was favoring Jones in a rematch with Gus though I did think Gus took the first 3 rounds in the first fight. But after the DC fight, I don't see how Jones has anything new for Gus. I think Gus is going to brutalize Jones.

Anthony won't last a round with Gus. He is by far the most overrated fighter in LHW.
He gets beat by alot of LHWs imo.

Not trying to be a jerk but have you not been watching Anthony Johnson lately? He is a absolute murderer.

Interesting. I had the exact opposite reaction. Jones performance against Cormier has made me lean way more towards Gus in the rematch.

Jones was getting hit, bullied and pressured a bit too easily in the first 3 rounds. With that reach advantage he wasn't able to do as much as I thought he would.

If Gus comes out as the aggressor and uses his boxing to keep Jon moving backwards I can see Jon getting into a world of trouble.

i don't think gus will have it in him again, unfortunately. imo he beat jones and i believe he's shot his wad when it comes to jones.
i feel sorry for gus. he was fighting so well and now we don't see him for a long time and there seems to be all this mucking around. time drags on.

I think the difference between our opinions is how highly think of Cormier and Gus.

In my opinion I thought Cormier was just whole other beast compared to Gus. Gus did look better in his fight with Jon but overall I think Cormier has looked much more impressive in his other outings. I really thought Cormier was the guy to beat Jon, and when he wasn't I kinda conceited that Jon is on another level compared to these other guys.

I understand why you came to that conclusion though.
