Media Guram with one of the coolest most innovative backtakes in MMA history

That was cool! It looked like he was just about to lose the position, but that saved him AND probably won him the fight.

Sometimes fighters do cool shit with the cage, usually they just grab it to defend a takedown

Hahaha I wonder if Leo Vieira ever ran into a wall

Indeed that could well have won him the fight was razor close

Yeah this was a crafty move. Very inventive.

It seems that this guy has great technique and agility, everyone who's trained with him are impressed.

I don't know why we don't get to see more of it in actual fights, but last night he gave us some glimpses

Hahaha didnt expect that. He mustve been a mechanic or a tinkerer

This guy just isn't as good as he was hyped up to be. He's not bad but he's certainly not great.

He almost went over the top, got overzealous and high on the back which bottom guy defended by tri-pod

Kept a body-lock to keep position

I don’t see anything special about it at all, normal in a grappling room

Always cool to see guys use the cage in ways you never see. No one can forget the Pettis kick to this day.

Guram is doing decently. His first UFC fight was freaking Gamrot and his second was Damir. If he fought intelligently against Brenner in the third round he'd be 3-1....but even then his ring acumen was evident as he went to town on Brenners body knowing the dude has a cement block for a face.

Give the guy a break. He is unranked and fighting one top.guy after the other. All of his opponents so far have been pretty solid guys
He just lost to Brenner … Brenner ranked ?!? Brenner is a punching bag (a tough punching bag)

Thanks for saying that. I see this all the time when advanced blue belts roll with newbies who give up their back. You especially see it in former wrestlers, who are conditioned to stay off their back.
