Guide to who is an actual casual

I’m absolutely a casual now and have been for quite some time.

Hell I’m probably even a step or two below that. Lol

As with a lot of other sports, once too much money gets involved, athletes become primadonnas.

Combine that with the novelty wearing off and you suddenly can’t be bothered to sit through three hours of it all. Lol

Your Sherdog join date, height, and hairline is what defines you as a casual. Female sherdoggers got it a bit tougher as their elbow definition also comes into play.

If you don't know this guy, you are a casual.

The tattoo "UFC" on your dick (while erect it obviously reads Ultimate Fighting Championship) = not casual

MMA fans are loser, myself included. I wish I was a casual but I’m ashamed to say I’m heavily invested in this embarrassing sport.

The fact that TS has to create a thread differentiating hardcore fans from casual fans shows how trash the fanbase is. Like dude, you spent time and energy coming up with that… Really?
I know quoting with just "hell yeah dude" is an annoying type of post but no one can come up with responses better then these..
<{yahyou}>
I wish I could be somewhere else but sometimes sherdog is great .

What if I only train kickboxing and grappling casually?

I ask myself this a lot lately. Burn out isn't talked about much, if at all, but its there for sure. I've kinda grown that way myself. Some cards/fights are must watch for me but much less so with Fight Nights almost every week.

I know fighters up the ladder aren't always guaranteed to put on good fights and vice versa, but the stakes of a fight, or in any sport, are key to building interest. It's hard to give a shit about fights where you know the winner will likely have to trawl through 4-5 more fights before they're ranked, let alone be close to a title.

Definitely, how long have you been watching?

This has been coming up a lot lately. I think we should put down some ground rules. Im going to break it down into 2 areas. Things that automatically make you a casual, and things that you need to check off to verify you are not a casual.

-Things that automatically make you a casual.

In my opinion if you check any of these boxes you are a casual.

You only care about one fighter and only watch events they are on like conor or Ronda or brock fans.

You aren't interested in EVERY title fight. Even the female title fights have a little allure to me now but as a whole no where near the mens divisions.

You can't name the champion of every mens division at all times, and who they took the title from. You should be able to trace the title for a while off the top of your head(interim champs and retiring throws this off a bit but you get the point)

You watch less than 100 fights per year (I dont care if live but maybe you get a bonus for that)

-Things that verify you are not a casual

You watch full events every time you have the opportunity.

You have or do train in combat sports regularly and dont check any of the casual boxes/have a perspective from multiple disciplines.

You know the base discipline of the vast majority of ufc fighters (I know we are getting to the point of fighters being baseless but I mean in general)

You care about other organizations outside the ufc.

-There's so many more I could add but I really want to see what others would add/remove. I always see time requirements and I disagree wholly if you became a fan a year ago and have watched 1000 fights since vs somebody who has been watching for 10 years and seen 500 how are you better.

Tell me what I missed or you think should qualify/disqualify you as a casual.
TS a full casual..

If you don't have "UFC till I die" or "MMA muthafucka" tattooed on your penis then you're a casual in my book.

Being a hardcore mma fan is way more of an insult than being a casual one.

Being a hardcore mma fan is something you should keep to yourself and bury your head in the sand if people find out about your dirty little secret.

Being hardcore makes you a loser. Being casual makes you the nonchalant cool kid.

I only watch gifs/videos of finishes on Sunday mornings, does that make me the casualest casual? :)

What if I'm neither?

Hahaha dude I made a pizza driver wait at my door for 5+ minutes during jon jones vs rashad he was not happy

Only Tony would do something like that.
He would deliver pizza from domino's to little Cesar's

That's a bold take. Is Dana White a casual, I don't believe he did anything other than Boxing

Casual is like the goat. We all choose our own made up ruleset for judging who qualifies.

No casuals on sherdog. That is greatest tell if someone is not a casual.
