For me it has to be the Shields fight. Outside of his ground game Shields has mediocre skills. After this fight I was really worried about GSPs motivation and future. It's embarrassing that the fight went five rounds. Agree?

He kicked Jake's ass almost completely blind. So no it wasn't an embarrassment

well im shocked that he took bj penn (who has won gold at the mundials at black belt) down yet was scared to take jake (who has never taken gold at black belt mundials or adcc) down. seems strange

He completely dominated Shields in every round. I'd say it's his first BJ fight.

Dan Hardy. It was clear the guy was at Georges' mercy but the frustration of not seeing the finish materialize was like a torture.

This. Do these Shields-fight bashers even know what they are talking about? The guy cheated and GSP still put on a clinic on his ass. May have been boring, but can you blame him that time?

Great point. I really believed that the Shields fight wouldn't go 3 rounds.

I'd say hardy actually. Shields wasn't really that bad imo. Being able to thoroughly dominate Jake Shields in every aspect is pretty respectable, even if he didn't look totally alpha in doing so.

But St. Pierre should have finished Dan Hardy numerous times lol. I'm sorry, Dan, but you're a long way from Georges' league.

GSP likes to exploit opponents weaknesses. BJ has phenomenal boxing. Shields has terrible stand up so he kept the Shields fight on the feet.

Really? Besides the Ellenburger fight, I don't think Shields had been ever finished. He has great recovery and has fantastic BJJ. Hendo couldn't even finish him when he was severely rocked. The fight was almost ensured to go to a decision. BJ Penn vs. GSP I was probably his closest fight in a winning effort.

Hardy. Hardy had no business in the cage with him and GSP should have gotten that kid out of there in the first round.

I'd definitely say Hardy, not only because of the failed subs, but also because Hardy isn't at GSP's level in anything, Georges should've finished that fight somewhere

Shields' striking is underrated. He's really flat-footed and sticks to basic techniques but he's a lot more effective than people give him credit for and usually outlands his opponents before he grapplefucks them.

I'm shocked that so many people still don't understand MMA.

It is not fear that made GSP force SHields to stand or Hardy to fight on the ground. it is dumb to think it is fear. It is strategy. Shields weakest part of his game is his standup and Hardy's is the ground and since GSP is well rounded and can fight anywhere he often will make a guy with a huge hole in his game fight where he is weakest.

Then shertards say 'but duh fear?'

He didnt finish Hardy, but he was never stalling in the entire fight, it was a decent performance, the same is true with koshcheck.

The shields fight however was fairly awful, plus he nearly lost it.
