After we saw what happened to Anderson. Can we all agree GSP leaving at the height of his career and before he is seriously hurt a smart move? He is more or less at the age a fighter should be retiring and to me it makes a lot of sense. His other choice is to go out with brain damage like Chuck did. Honestly there will always be a new up and comer who will be hungry for his belt.

It's definitely a smart choice for his long term health. He wasn't going to get any better so theres really nothing left to prove.

I never read the word 'retire' associated with GSP recently.

GSP retired as an undefeated champ with lots of money and still kinda young 30?
It's the best thing he could do.
He got out at the right time imo and that was a very wise thing.

Only if you don't count guys named Matt.

More like 32 I think.

Yeah GSP is only champ who in recent memory who went out on top.

He was very smart to retire. Look at guys like Bas. Retired on top, now he can talk all the shit in the world. Rickson Gracie with his 11 pro fights. Or look at Chuck Norris. Never fought is known for being invincible.

While GSP is at a age where he should be considering retirement seeing the unique circumstances he went out he should have given Hendricks one more fight. Heck AS is much older than GSP and lost and he still fought again GSP would have fine to have one more fight against Hendricks to show and win or lose it would have been a better outcome for him than retiring after "winning" a fight 90% of the MMA world thinks he lost.

true, but he has both matt's number. he worked both of them much more thsn they did him. he proved he's a better fighter than both matt's. doesn't make gsp undefeated technically, but it might as well in reality. Nobody has gsp's number, gsp even beat a huge up and comer in Hendricks for his last fight. gsp is the man.

I think its badass he went out on top.

agreed! he's deep in his career and Hendricks is in his prime. I was highly impressed by gsp winning that fight. sure it was close, but we all know to be the man you gotta beat the man and a close decision over the champ doesn't cut it (especially when Hendricks kept claiming he would ko him etc only used 70% etc). Hendricks is a smart guy and I believe he did his best, but it wasn't enough against a tough as nails dude in gsp.

yeah he avenged every loss and there's nothing else to say.

Georges is a very smart man, I'm a huge gsp fan but I hope he stays away for good, I don't wanna see him go out like Chuck or Matt Hughes and get knocked out a few times before he retires permanently

exactly, the only knock on him might be he didn't finish many fights. but even his decision wins are all out wars usually so I'm cool with that.

In time people will forget about that last fight and only the facts on paper will remain:
the fact that GSP won that last fight.

People can say whatever they want, he won the fight and that's that.
Hendrix was not able to take the belt away from him, so Hendrix is not a champ, GSP went home with the belt. The rest is a bunch of BS imo.

oh please lol fat serra got his ass whooped in the rematch, gsp finished him when he chose to. after that ass whoopin serra was of no real relevance in title talk.

Oh please what? GSP is not undefeated. Welcome to reality.
