Everyone expected him to come back from injury looking past his prime.

Everyone thought Condit would either KO him or lose to a boring decision.

Instead Georges comes back and has the best fight of the year.

What a champion!

Did you watch The Korean Zombie vs. Poirier?

1. No, most people actually didn't know what to expect for GSP's return.

2. I think GSP was the favourite going in to the Condit fight, and won a decision by controlling him on the ground for the majority of the match, like most people though he would.

3. Did you watch The Korean Zombie vs. Poirier?

KZ vs P was the second best fight.

KZ vs Poirier is a good choice for fight of the year, just like GSP vs Condit was.

Both extremely intense fights in their own ways.

Is was good and the irony of KZ winning with that sub made it sweet...but let's consider the significance of GSP vs Condit, how Georges rallied back against a possible KO shot and then dominated a game opponent.

Its one of those fights that historians will talk about like Ali-Fraser

No one, but idiots, thought any of them things. And no, it wasn't the best fight of the year. By George's standards it was pretty good though (not saying much).

Broke Fitch vs Sexy Silva was fight of the year if you ask me. Varner vs Lauzon comes 2nd then GSP vs Condit and KZ vs Poirier.

But yeah, GSP is the fighter of the year IMO. Comes back after an 18 month long layoff and a potentially career ending injury and dominates his toughest opponent yet and proves that he has the heart of a champion.

Yeah, Varner Lauzon was the shit.

Either Anderson or Rousey imo. Anderson destroys the only man to ever give him trouble, then victimizes a roided LHW who could be HW. Rousey fights a tough champ in Tate gets in some bad spots then fucks her arm up, submits a striker in 19 seconds and takes a sport(WMMA) to the next level.

You have this history of writing such inflamatory things that it just ends up drawing GSP haters like fly paper and turning the thread into a hate fest.

I remember your prior thread where you rightly proclaimed GSP mma's biggest draw but you went on to suggest his PPV would sell more then UFC100 and maybe more then 2M. Oh the hate that one drew down...and yet you keep doing the same thing.

Seems almost purposely done.

Rousey Ok for what she has done for the sport of wmma.

Anderson no. His Okami avenge fight was just a good fight. Him beating Bonnar was just what we knew going back to UFC1 which is when you put an 'A' level fighter versus guys with 'C' level skills the smaller guy can over come size. While fun to watch there is nothing that impressive about it.

People are too fast to throw the word "idiot" around. Differing opinion =/= idiocy. St-Pierre vs. Condit was a fantastic fight, as was Jung vs. Poirier.
