So, I'm always good at the stand up style but when I get to the ground I always lose. So pretty much, if you get me to the ground you have a higher chance of winning. But of course, I'm A LOT better at stand up and that's how I win my fights. So the question is, is there any extra home training I could do so I could get better? I'm thinking endurance training but I'm not sure...Thanks!

the only thing you could really do is work on your take down defense and your ground game.

working your endurance won't do much if you don't know what your doing, it will just take a bit longer before you give in.

Agreed. Get your butt to BJJ classes. If you're in high school join the wrestling team or something.

At this point I don't think endurance training will do anything, it will just take longer for you to lose.

The thing about any type of ground game is that you need to practice techniques over and over before you can really be comfortable enough to use them in the heat of battle. That goes for wrestling and Jiu Jitsu. You can read a book on boxing or whatever stand up you like, and if your naturally talented, you'll have some success with what you've learned. However, BJJ really requires you to put miles in to get good. So the only way your really going to get where you want to be is to a) get a BJJ book and a friend and drill constantly or b) join a bjj gym.

I'm actually going to start BJJ soon, and I can't do wrestling 'cause I have swim team during wrestling season.

SWIMMING OVER WRESTLING? BLASPHEMY!

Just kidding man. Swimming is great for your cardio/endurance. if you work hard at BJJ in addition to swimming you will be unstoppable!

Yeah man just join a BJJ gym, you cant do anything on your own that'll make your groundgame better
