Media Greg Hardy Makes Weight

Greg Hard is a pornstar.

Greg Hardy on the other hand, glad to hear he made weight. Maurice is a good test for him, should be a fun fight.

do we really want 300lb fat slobs fighting? cause that's all we would see. it's extremely rare to find a guy thats 300lbs, fairly lean and muscular. almost impossible...99.99% will all be grossly obese and nobody wants to see that...the ufc doesn't want that represent them as well....there's a reason why, in all of boxing history, all the greatest heavweight boxers, were all in the 215-225lb range.
The fat slobs won’t make it far in the ufc , thus we won’t see them and it won’t be an issue.
If someone is fat enough to win at that weight, than obv they are talented enough.
IMO should be no weight limit for heavyweight, or add a super heavyweight division.

He made weight

What's the big deal?

The 265lb limit is silly anyway

Is he the first fighter to have a dq debut in the UFC!?

With respect to Greg Hardy, he used to be a former defensive end and his appearance suggests someone who is a massive heavyweight who probably walks quite a bit over the heavyweight limit, so at least he made the HW limit safely this time.

He did look like he had some fat to shed though, maybe a couple of pounds here and there.

The UFC's heavyweight roster is at this current time one of the most pathetic rosters maybe of all time. I would probably even say some of the female divisions are just as stacked in some ways.

Problem is Bellator, ONE FC, PFL, Rizin all have strong brands in regards to their HW's and the UFC is left holding nothing but a bunch of cans that has long gone over expiration date in regards to calling them prospects.

It's basically a bunch of dead weight and bums like Greg Hardy whos gotten into the sport on the "easy" path, will never live up the high expections that the "hardcore" fans have for that division.

IMO i think HW was on top when Werdum, Cain, Brock was fighting it out, atleast entertainment wise, now it's just a bunch of cans and TONS of mismatches. UFC actually turned me off when it comes to watching heavyweights fight.

This used to be how it was in the 70s to 80s, but heavyweights starting from the 90s started to get bigger and they started gaining an advantage over the HW boxers on the lighter end.

Nowadays 230 is pretty light for a HW boxers with exceptions like Deontay Wilder. 240 is probably the norm in this era (albeit some of the HW boxers are pretty darn chubby).

@Pitbull95 When you got your athletes on the bigger end doing other sports because it's more lucrative, not a lot of truly gifted fighters are going to come in HW. They might even drift over to boxing and even powerlifting more often than not.

But then since the weight limit at HW is so high, weight is prioritized more compared to their skillset since unless you're like Cain/DC/Stipe, chances are you'd do better at HW if are bigger/heavier than the other guy is.

Fun fact: the share he would have forfeited to Maurice Greene would probably have been 3 times larger than Greene's pay check.

I can’t believe Hardy needed two attempts to make weight!

I sincerely hope Greene “crochets” him a Stretcher, and sends him to the Hospital!!

Legit probably went and took a shit and then was on weight.. would have a story if he never made it, but he did so who cares.

it's more of an image thing....the ufc most likely doesn't want to be associated with fat slob looking dudes, huffing and puffing after 2 minutes of fighting...they want in shape fairly lean fighters. even at heavyweight.
