People can't name Pete Postlethwaite? well maybe they can't spell his surname but I'd say he was pretty well known. The same with Robert Davi and Bruce McGill.

Not a henchman but as a silent minor antagonist I'd mention Fasil in Highlander.

Eddie Dane -Miller's Crossing

Although I think what makes the character interesting is they take what would normally be a silent badass henchman and turn him into a smart guy capable of going toe to toe with the protagonist mentally.

Really the film is more about Tom, Bernie and the Dane duelling with each other mentally, when Tom tricks Caspar into killing the Eddie then Tom has already won.
