As the title says, who has the greater career resurgence? Both guys made their records spotty by fighting at the wrong weight class (Rumble at 170 and Robbie at 185) and now one of them is champ (although by controversial decision) and the other just beat the guy many MMA fans proclaimed the unofficial LHW champion... in a single round.

Really amazing what these two have done in the sport with their histories.

As of right now I would say Robbie, but if Johnson comes out on top against Jon JONES then that would be the single greatest turn around of all time. Former welterweight, kicked out for weight issues cause of being stubborn kid leaves goes on a tear comes back and obliterates the light heavyweight division. Would be epic.

Robbie never hit a skid too badly. He left and went from a B- to an A+. Rumble was a C- and became an A.

Robbie is right now. Rumble can catch up if he beats Jon Jones, but then it's all up to how many title defenses they have. It's hard to imagine that Rumble fought at 170.

both came out of left field because of those shortcomings and Rumble's past at 2 divisions lower plus the gas fest vs AA, but as it is Robbie holds the belt.

If AJ can beat Jones it's him, since his comeback 3 UFC fights have been pure destruction from bell to bell, while Robbie's had close fights, and Jones is better than Hendricks or any other WW.

Rumble. The guy couldn't make weight and was cut by the UFC. Definitely a 'gone for good' type situation. Robbie was always making waves and doing well. Rumble fought at HW, LHW and has destroyed guys.

Yeah there's nothing more satisfying than seeing a great comeback story. To bad one of my favorite fighters fell victim but that fine. If Rumble stops JJ i would say he might take this one. Love both guys though.

Rumble by a mile. Lawler was always a talented dude that had weaknesses he didn;t address. Ru,ble has found his home and is as scary as motherfucker as their is in the division. I can bet against him, but I'd be hesitant.

EDIT: Ive beeen drinkiong. But I grabbed the ass pf all the girls at the table. Truth.

If Rumble beats Jones, then he might have the best career comeback story.

Robbie right now, but I might feel differently if Rumble beats Jones

I wouldn't really regard Rumble as having a resurgence.

if i had to pick between the two itd be rumble(if he beats jones.) due to the fact he went up a weight class whereas lawler went down.

Lawler did not win a controversial decision in the rematch, and I think Rumbles resurgence in greater just by the way he has won his last few fights.

Lawler by heaps n bounds....

For a guy who started off back in 2001, had a good run but then got written off as wasted potential.....came back at MW, struggled a bit....then enters UFC at WW again and starts dominating, then wins the strap....now that's one hell of an mma story if I ever heard one.

Lawler, he won the title.

But if Rumble beats Jones, then it's Rumble by far

I wouldn't really regard Rumble as having a resurgence.

His career somewhat went off the deep end after his whole weight issue debacle in his fight with Belfort. He wasn't taken seriously at all anymore.

funny that for a while there lawler was fighting in a higher division than rumble.
