Looks like the PPV buy rate is going to be through the roof. All you haters complaining about the pay raise have nothing to say now.

Got nothing to do with Dana... and to be honest this PPV was bad for the ufc, the fights all sucked ass except from the main event

That will put all the casuals off, all that hype for the main event, with a lot of people tuning in and they made shit fights... which if you looked into before watching/ordering the card you would have realised they all are going to be shit except the co main/main event

Hate to say it but the man is right. If you have a monster buyrate, you want a card like UFC 92, 100, or 168 (last year's december card) to unfold where it's clearly going to entertain the masses and bring the casuals back for more.

Last night unfortunately didn't unfold that way (even though on paper it seemed like the type of main card that would be entertaining). You had one very good fight in the main event but the rest were either not as good as they could have been but solid (Horiguchi vs. Gaudinot) or lackluster (the remaining three fights).

    +1

And to think it was bought for 8 mill, and the man who made it all happen didn't spend one fucking dollar.

As much as I can't stand Dana at times, he's the American Dream.

I would contend that even the main event was bad for casual fans. Knowledgeable fans who knew what was happening could maybe appreciate. They could see Jones again beating someone at their own game but it wasn't particularly action packed with anyone close to being finished. It was another bad card overall as far as the fights were concerned.

    This.

Last night reminded me why I stream the fights or watch them the morning after. Other than the main event, it was not an entertaining card. I had a couple of friends over who aren't MMA fans, thinking this card would get them on the right path. I think they enjoyed hanging out, but I didn't get the impression any of them were all that interested in pitching for a UFC PPV again anytime in the near future.

Dana White's entire career was made on the back of the Bonnar/Griffin fight. He's never been able to capitalize on any of his big opportunities (UFC 100, UFC on Fox 1, last night, etc.) and yet people think he's some kind of genius because he got lucky that the Bonnar/Griffin were two idiots with mediocre skills who were fine "jus scrappin'" one night.

Casual fans only watch for the main event. Same with boxing.
