Watched an old Karo Parisyan fight. The arm throw he did in that fight was pretty incredible.

Got me thinking about many fighters that started in Judo.

I feel most start in wrestling or BJJ.

Are there any great fighters that started out in Judo?

Yeah he's extremely good although he's a little slippery at times.

Good call. Maybe also Naoya Ogawa but probably not a great MMA fighter.

Yoshida was a great Judoka (Olympic gold medallist) and a pretty good MMA fighter. Never truly elite, but gave Wand all he could handle twice.

Yep, he won gold at the Asia Games which is much tougher than winning in the Olympics.

They all had some very good wins. In MMA Kohsaka or Nakamura had longer careers with more fights but Yoshida was most famous in Pride. Kohsaka also has a "win" over Fedor.
